Growing up I have so many fond memories of cooking with my mom and family dinners.
I remember this awesome giant chocolate chip cookie recipe my mom and I got out of a magazine. I just loved making that delicious giant cookie together.
I also remember coming home to the smell of my mom’s cooking and it being so comforting. Then sitting down altogether at the dining room table and gobbling up the wonderful food mom made. Thinking about it I can almost smell some of my favorite dinners my mom used to make.
I can also remember learning to BBQ with my dad. I have to say he taught me well and it is a well known joke among our family that I am actually way better at the BBQ than my dad is. If you want tender meat, I BBQ. Feel like a charcoal brick, then get my dad to BBQ. Sorry dad if you are reading this 🙂 xoxo
The most important part about all these memories is the time spent together. Food can really bring families together and build memories to cherish. It really is Better Together.
In celebration of Family Day, we’re inviting you to share your most cherished food memories with us!
Food, unlike anything else, has the power to bring us back in time. Our food memories, especially childhood memories, of cooking and baking with our loved ones, really do last a lifetime. That’s because being together in the kitchen with our family is where we bond and learn about our family traditions, as much as it’s about the food or recipes we’re preparing.
As we gear up to celebrate Family Day next week, we’re inviting you to take a few moments to reflect on your earliest food memories and share them with us! Perhaps you’ll remember one of the first recipes you learned to cook as a child or one of the first recipes you cooked together with your family in the kitchen.
Share your food memories with us between February 2nd and 9th, in one of the following three ways, for a chance to win Kitchen for Kids and Kids Fun and Healthy Cookbook, two fantastic family cookbooks that inspire kids to cook. All entries will be automatically entered into a random draw and the winner will be announced on February 9th, Family Day.
Please note this giveaway is only open to residents of BC
