Art, coloring, drawing…they are all things that my Little One loves to do and we have loved to do together over the years. It truly is an activity that you never outgrow.
When it comes to coloring there are no rules. Give kids a blank piece of paper and something to doodle with and watch them express themselves – no matter their artistic skills or age. Chameleon Kidz is adding a new twist to childhood coloring. Say hello to the return of the Blendy Pens, markers that offer a colorful palette with the stroke of a single pen! The results are stunning single-color gradations without changing markers.
We all know what happens when you add yellow to green. But imagine the result when strokes of yellow follow orange and then red without switching colored markers! That’s the beauty of The Original Blendy series, popular a dozen years ago. They are making a big return to store shelves in Q4 and 2018 with Blendy Pens Jumbo Kit (24 markers), Large Kit (20 markers), Small Kit (8 markers) and Stationery Set (6 markers).
My Little One and I put the Blendy Pens Jumbo Kit (24 markers) to the test which comes with:
*24 Blendy Pens
*12 Fusion Chambers
*1 Art Portfolio
*1 Blendy Pen Airbrush
The sets can be used to color traditionally, blend colors, or airbrush. The airbrush is our favorite…more on that in a minute.
Here is how you blend the colors…
When blending the colors you need to make sure that the markers are clicked into the fusion chamber. You then follow the arrows on the chamber and turn the one the way the arrow says and the other one the opposite way as indicated by the arrows. When you turn them properly, you will see the two marker tips touching inside the fusion chamber. Count to at least 5 seconds to make sure that there is color transfer from the one marker to the other. Then take the lighter colored marker out and start coloring. As you color, the darker color will start out and slowly fade to the original color of the marker you are using.
The fusion of the colors adds character to pictures and drawings and is fun to play around with.
Here is the first fusion we did…..
The Blendy Pen Airbrush is amazing and sooooo much fun to use. You just place a Blendy marker into the holder of the Blendy Airbrush and then blow. The result is an airbrushed look. I had just as much fun with the airbrush feature as my Little One did.
Imagine the endless art that can be done with the Blendy Pens sets. The set that we put to the test allows for 276 color combinations.
Best of all, the Blendy Pens Jumbo Set comes with a portfolio you can color and keep your art in as well as posters to color and stencils.
Both my Little One and I love coloring and doing arts and crafts so the Blendy Pens are perfect. We both highly recommend that you check them out.
