My family and I recently went to see Cirque du Soleil Amaluna in Vancouver, BC Canada.
Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon.
Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next.
In the wake of a storm caused by Prospera, a group of young men lands on the island, triggering an epic, emotional story of love between Prospera’s daughter and a brave young suitor. But theirs is a love that will be put to the test. The couple must face numerous demanding trials and overcome daunting setbacks before they can achieve mutual trust, faith and harmony.
From the moment the lights went down to the last image, the show was breathtaking. The audience gave Amaluna a standing ovation and they more than deserved it. I left Amaluna with the feeling that it was the best show I had ever seen.
My 5 year old was on the edge of her seat the entire show. At the end of the show she was screaming and cheering with excited. My 5 year old left the show and said that it was amazing and wanted to go see it again.
Throughout the entire show I was in awe of the athleticism of the performers and in amazement of what they could do. It truly was breathtaking and gave me chills all over.
I wanted to share that you do not have to purchase the higher priced tickets either. I could not see a bad seat in the house!
I more than highly recommend that you go see Amaluna. I can’t even put into words just how amazing this show is.
To find where Amaluna is touring, make sure to visit the Official Amaluna website.
Remember to also stay in the know with Cirque du Soleil by joining their Cirque Club.
After seeing Amaluna, our entire family was inspired and had to go see Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away which is now playing in theaters.
Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away was also amazing and every one in my family that saw the show absolutely loved it as well.
Whether you get to see Cirque du Soleil live or not, I also recommend seeing Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away in theaters.
