If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter then I am sure the one thing that you know about me is that I have a love for coffee. I often refer to coffee as liquid gold because of my love for it. There is just nothing better for me than to wake up in the morning and have about million cups of great tasting coffee. Okay maybe I don’t have a million, but I have so many that I loose track of just how many cups of coffee I have in a day. 🙂
I was so excited when I was recently asked to test out Granville Island Coffee Company coffee. It took me all of a split second to agree to subjecting myself to being a taste tester of coffee!
First a little bit about Granville Island Coffee Company as quoted from their website:
Granville Island Coffee® comes from single growing regions on the planet that ensure a consistency and uniqueness which only that region’s soil, altitude and climate can produce.
We have focused on roasting single origin coffee because our belief that a bean’s origin is not only important, but unrivaled. By emphasizing “origin” coffee, like wine, our customers can experience the taste characteristics and regional nuances of the world’s coffees.
Secondly, our customers can stay connected with their favorite roast as we update blogs relating to farming conditions, growing methods (organic), and fair or direct trade.
Granville Island Coffee has an advantage that some smaller roasters do not. Even though our commitment is to small batch roasting, because we buy large quantities of green bean, and can afford in-house QC, we can scrutinize more carefully our supply. More importantly, we can reject shipments where warranted. Whether our green bean comes from Peru or Guatemala, our customer must be ensured that the taste is consistent, and ultimately, that drinking Granville Island Coffee is an experience.
After reading about the Granville Island Coffee Company, I am sure that you are wanting to test out some of their coffee yourself. Just looking at their logo photo makes me want to sip some of their coffee and enjoy the view right down on Granville Island itself.
There are a number of Granville Island Coffee Company Products that you can choose from……
Signature Roast – Medium
This Fair Trade Organic Peruvian Bean is roasted medium. It is reflected in its color and texture and exhibits a flavor more representative of its growing region.
Signature Roast – Dark
This roast, which also uses a Peruvian Fair Trade Organic bean, has a heavier body and lower acidity, and accentuates the nuances of this ineffable bean.
Yaletown Roast – Dark
A Guatemalan origin, this Fair Trade Bean is roasted dark, a perfect balance of its origin and roast flavor characteristics.
Kitsilano Roast – Dark
Mexican in origin, and also Fair Trade Organic, this bean is roasted dark, best complimenting its nutty overtones.
I tried out the Signature Dark Roast and loved it. It is a nice, dark, smooth coffee that I really enjoy. Some dark coffees can have an oily, acidic taste to them from my past experiences and I found that this was not the case with Granville Island Coffee Company coffee.
You can purchase Granville Island Coffee Company coffee online or in these official retail stores.
