My Little One is 9 years old and as of yet we have not had to have the talk about Santa and if he is real. She has asked questions surrounding Santa and has drawn some conclusions like all the Santa’s in the mall are Santa’s helpers.
I can see that she is coming into that time that she knows that Santa is not real, but she still feels and believes in the magic and holds onto that. I still believe in the magic of Christmas and have held onto it.
When the time comes to explain the magic of Santa to a little one, many try the talk themselves, and some turn to the many books that tell the story. One of the more recent books about Santa that I have come across is The Big Secret: The Whole and Honest Truth About Santa, by DW Boorn.
Receiving the 2014 Reader’s Favorite International Book Award Gold Medal for Best Parenting book of the Year, Silver honors from Mom’s Choice Awards and appearing on the cover of Publisher’s Weekly, The Big Secret “teaches everything” but allows your child to control when he or she is ready to get the information. By choosing to read the entire book, he or she becomes a member of The Big Kids’ Club and all is revealed in a wonderfully positive way.
Christmas magic is redefined as good actions children (and adults) perform and the transition from believing to understanding becomes a very positive experience for the whole family. With each page beautifully illustrated and the message kindly and directly told, this feel-good book leaves everyone looking forward to the next time The Big Secret, The Whole and Honest Truth About Santa Claus is pulled off the shelf to add a new member to the Big Kids’ Club!
Will this be the last year your child believes in Santa’s magic or the first year he creates it?
Magic IS real! You will believe too!
The Big Secret Book is magnificently illustrated. Each page is done beautifully.
The book asks the reader numerous times if they are sure that they are ready for the truth. If they decide they are not ready, then they can choose to close the book. If they are ready, then they decide to keep on reading.
The book tone is non-religious and focuses on the magic of everything. It is presented in a non-judgmental way that is sure to include everyone.
I love the book because it provides an answer and message that allows everyone to still believe……
The Big Secret book has won a ton of rewards and has received glowing reviews….
I just cannot wreck the book for anyone so all I can say is that The Big Secret: The Whole and Honest Truth About Santa Claus is a wonderful tool for parents looking at having the big Santa talk.
As with any book you are giving to your child to help explain something, I always recommend that the parent reads the book first to ensure it is in line with their belief system and a tool that will work for their family.
You can find The Big Secret book online at Amazon and is also available through the author’s website as well as at Walmart in the USA.
