Kids are scientists by nature. They ask questions and make their own discoveries based off of their own curiosity. However, as they grow older, their level of understanding and interest to discover new ideas decreases. With science being a subject in school, they sometimes only do what is expected of them. As a parent, sometimes, you may find yourself wanting to direct your child’s interests to certain activities. Their choices might not sit so well with you, and you would want to change that by influencing them to try other things. 1) Get a Science Kit
Kids love learning while playing. You can take advantage of this and introduce science kits to toys. For young learners, introduce role-playing with toys as this sparks their curiosity to learn some more. Once they graduate from this stage, get them toys that are more sophisticated. They come with science components and even experiment procedures that they would enjoy to carry out. You can also have them enjoy science trips, movies, or cooking where they apply what they learn in class on the field and vice versa. Such fun activities allow them to look forward to more science action and while at it increase their interest.
3) Share the Interest
Kids always get excited when they share fun and learning activities with their parents. Become that fun parent by participating in science escapades and classes with your kids. Being hands-on helps you discover your child’s abilities and interests. It also helps you tailor-make activities to suit your child’s needs.
