As a busy mom, I can admit that it is hard to find time to get my fitness time in. From my experience many of us parents can relate. Often our fitness regime includes running around and after our kids!
I myself find it very rewarding when I can fit my fitness time in. Whether it is a nice walk, a run, or a little weights, anything that keeps me moving and healthy makes me healthier and happier for my kids and family.
How do you keep your fitness regime going? Do you prefer your workout to be an individual experience? Do you do better with a group of friends? Do you like to step out your friend door and go for a run or head to the gym for a class?
I love putting my tunes on and heading out for a late night run or walk. I find it easier to fit my workout time in when I can just step from the front door, get my exercise in, and head back home. It helps to maximize my time, what little extra I seem to have.
The other exercise that we love to do is hikes as a family. I love being in nature and the company of my family as we explore trails and get our hearts beating. There is nothing more enjoyable and peaceful that walking through the forest with my family.
I seem to be the driving force in our house for our exercise outings. It is not that my other family members don’t want to go, it is just that I like to go more than they do and therefore, I think of it more. Who is the influences the fitness activities in your house?
Take this FitQuiz to see what your fitness influence is. It is a pretty fun quiz.

So what was your FitQuiz results? Are you the driving fitness influence among your friends and family? If not, what can you do to help yourself make your fitness time for fun and enjoyable so that you become the influence for fitness time? If you have any tips I sure would love to hear them.
Here are some of my tips to help be the influence in your families fitness regime:
*Pick some activities that your kids love like hiking, or a day out at the trampoline park.
*Make sure to bring enough water and snacks to keep everyone happy.
*If you are going hiking, bring along a small magnifying glass to explore things you find a little. It makes the exercise time fun, educational, and more exciting.
*Make sure to be willing to take breaks at the rate of your slowest or youngest person. The pace is important because if it is too hard for your youngest participant, then they will not have fun.
*Take pictures because these are great memories and achievements.
*If you do hikes and walks maybe time yourselves especially on trails you do often so that everyone can see how great you are improving.
*If your city has outside exercise parks or obstacle courses, kids love these and they are fun to do as a family.
*Remember good old fashioned outside time together doing your favorite sports is great exercise too.
But what about being the influence with your friends? Do you have great tips to get your friends involved? Here are a few of my tips for getting those friends out with you:
*Involve the kids. A mom and child event is fun, such as a hike and it gets everyone involved and active.
*Register in events in your area as a team of parents. It gives you a timeline to be ready for and a great motivator.
*Register for classes together. This is another great motivator because one of you will be there to motivate the others each class.
Making fitness fun is the best way to get everyone on board. I know that we love our family, fun hikes.
I would love to hear all your fitness tips as well as your FitQuiz results.
