My Little One absolutely loves doing crafts. I think that making things is something that she does the most.
Recently we came across Ivy Kids, a company that creates wonderful craft kits for your Little Ones from ages 3 to 8 years old. The craft kits are available in a subscription or a one time purchase.
We have put The Snowy Day Ivy Kids kit to the test.
What I noticed as soon as we opened our Snowy Day kit was how much came inside the box. The Ivy Kids kits come jam packed with activities. Some activities are a one time creation and others are activities that can be used over and over again, such as the book and games.
I have to say that I have never come across another kid’s craft subscription service that has the quantity of items in a monthly package. There really are a ton of crafts to do within each monthly box. Will the contents keep your Little One busy for a month? Well that really depends on how quickly your Little One sits there and completes the crafts within the kit. If your Little One is anything like mine, as soon as she opened the box, she was doing one craft after another because of her sheer excitement with the contents of the box before her.
I have to talk about age ranking for Ivy Kids. The recommended age as per Ivy Kids is 3 to 8 years old. I highly recommend that parents keep in mind that there are choking hazards in the boxes, or at least there were in the kit that we received. I think that anyone under the age of 4, or that tends to put things in their mouth, absolutely needs parental supervision while using the kits. On the other end of the age spectrum, I think that 8 is definitely a great top end age ranking. Having said that, my 12 year old definitely enjoyed playing with the snow we made from our Snowy Day kit.
Here is my Little One making the snow from our Snowy Day kit.
Each month has a theme for the kits which is something that really appealed to my Little One. In our kit she also got to make a snowman and snowflakes among a ton of other crafts and activities. Here are her snowman and snowflake creations.
Here is what I love about the Ivy Kids craft kits:
*Comes packaged very well.
*Recognizable package that kids look forward to.
*Jam packed full of contents.
*Comes with a book.
*Some items are reusable such as the games.
*Wonderful crafts that tap into developing other skills such as fine motor skills.
*Crafts are high quality, not just paper contents…our kit came with paints, modelling clay, snow to make, measuring cups, and so much more.
*Fun, fun, and more fun.
