Junior Learning – 6 Phonics Games

May 23, 2015 By MomMomOnTheGo

Something as a mom that I have always been passionate about is finding great educational toys. I love the toys and games that make learning fun. You know…the type where your little one pretty much does not realize that they are learning because they are having way too much fun. That is exactly what I love.

One company that I have found very successful in providing high quality, fun, educational products is Junior Learning. The latest Junior Learning product that I have checked out is the 6 Phonics Games.

6 Phonics Games out of box

TThis set of educational games and activities is designed for teaching phonics and how different letter patterns make up words. Children will love playing with letter sounds and building words to win the game. The design of these games follows a systematic synthetic phonics approach where this set makes up the second progression of letter sounds, following on from the 6 Letter Sound Games. Board games are printed double sided to help save the environment. Contents: 2 board games, 2 matching games, 10 word puzzles, 16 dominoes, spinner and counters.

The 6 Phonics Games work on the following:

*Decoding Words
*Digraphs
*Decoding Sentences
*Double Vowles
*Long Vowel Words
*R-Controlled Vowels

All the learning activities are done through 2 different board game, 2 different matching games, 10 word puzzles, and 16 dominoes.

For age ranking, the Junior Learning website and the 6 Phonics Game Box says that the games are recommended for ages 5 and up. I totally agree with the ages 5 and up age ranking as in order for your child to be focusing on fun, they need to be comfortable with their sounds and letters.

The 6 Phonics Games come with instructions for how to play each game. You can follow the instructions or just use the products together with your little one for some fun learning time together.

I think that it is best think of the 6 Phonics Games as something that you would be doing with your child. Your little one would be able to probably entertain themselves with the letter puzzles, but they will need someone to play with them for the board games. Plus doing the games together builds great memories, provides quality time together, and also lets you see where your child is at in their learning. It is wonderful to see their improvement over time.

One thing that I really love about the 6 Phonics Games is that there is something for every type of learner and game player in it. A little puzzle time, a little board game time, as well as different themed games for variety.

The 6 Phonics Game is available on the Junior Learning website. At the time of this review it is selling for $19.99 which to me is a great price for a box full of 6 different learning activities.

I have always loved Junior Learning and their products. I recommend you stop by the Junior Learning website and check out all the great educational items that they have.
