Learning Resources Froggy Feeding Fun Review & Giveaway

Learning Resources Froggy Feeding Fun Review & Giveaway

April 4, 2012 By MomMomOnTheGo

If you follow my website or me on any of my Social Media sites, you know that I love educational products. I love supporting companies that help teach our children through creative and fun ways. One company that I am really happy to continually work with is Learning Resources, because they do everything that I think a company should do for our children. They make great quality, educational toys and products that from my experience children love and love to play with. What is even better is, from my experience, the children that use their products are having so much fun, that they do not even realize that the “toy” they are using is classified under the “educational” category instead of just a “fun” category.

So far no matter what product we have tried and tested from Learning Resources has been a spectacular hit with my children. When I say it was a hit, I mean that my children loved the product, were excited to play or use the product and kept coming back to use the toy/product again and again.

The latest product that I put to the test with my children was the Froggy Feeding Fun.

Look out, flies! Squeeze open Froggy’s mouth and grab flies to strengthen fine motor muscles. Also develops number sense, counting and color recognition.

Roll a cube to determine which flies to munch—practice number and color matching skills too.

Includes 2 durable rubber frogs, 60 flies, 1 number cube, 1 color cube and Activity Guide

Frogs measure 2.5” in diameter

Froggy Feeding Fun is rated for ages 3-7 but my 9 year old also loved to play with her younger 5 year old sister. Us adults also had a blast playing the game with our little ones. Froggy Feeding Fun is a great family night game because everyone can do it.

The great thing about Froggy Feeding fun is it is an activity resource meaning that there is not set game and you or your little ones can use your imagination to make the rules of the game each time you play. We had a lot of fun making up the rules and inventing our own structure to the game each time we played. For those that need a few ideas for games, there is an activity guide that suggests activities to make your Froggy Feeding Fun a lot of fun.

The reviews on the Learning Resources website for this product come back as a 5 out of 5 with one con listed. There was a comment that the Frog is too stiff. Here is the solution if your little one finds the frog too stiff;
Have them start off with two hands when using the frog and as they learn the technique and their hands strengthen, they can then graduate to one hand.
The other option is for an adult to use the frog a few times first to sort of “break it in” as it does soften a wee bit as it is used.

I really did not see the frog being stiff as an issue because of the above solutions. My youngest started off using the frog with two hands and within 30 minutes she had learned the technique and progressed to one hand froggy use.

I think Froggy Feeding Fun is a great product and could be used in the home or a school setting.

    Love all the products that Learning Resources has! But would really love to get one of the “Gears, Gears, Gears” products like the Lights and Action building set for my almost 8 year old!
