I am a huge supporter of educational toys and Learning Resources. I have tried and tested countless of the products that Learning Resources carries and I have never been let down. I love the line of products that they carry.
The latest Learning Resources product that my little one and I tested out was the Primary Science Plant & Grow Set. With myself loving gardening and my little one following in my tracks, the Primary Science Plant & Grow Set is absolutely perfect.
Introduce complex horticultural concepts through early science play! Unique pieces, such as an observation jar and rooting tray, allow children to explore growing cycles right in their classrooms! Pots are clear for observation, and trowel is sized for little hands.
Set of 12 includes 1 watering can, 1 rooting tray, 1 observation jar, 2 solid and screened lids, 3 pots, 1 trowel, 3 plant markers and 10 activity cards
Watering Can measures approx. 5″ x 7.35″ x 3.125″
The age range for the Primary Science Plant & Grow Set is huge in my opinion. The age ranking is for ages 3 to 9 years old. I totally agree with the age ranking and love that this product is applicable for 6 years of a child’s life. What value you receive at a MSRP of $29.99.
I really like that Learning Resources doesn’t just give you a growing set. They also provide 10 activity cards and you can download more for FREE on the Learning Resources website. The activity cards provide great ideas for your little one to do and experiment with growing different things. The learning that comes from experimenting with growing different items is priceless.
With school ending and the summer months here, I think that a wonderful way to keep your little one’s mind working and excited about experimenting is with the Primary Science Plant & Grow Set. I really loves this set for encouraging learning, experimenting and having fun while doing it.
I read a review where one person thought that the set should come with starter seeds. The set does not come with seeds and I do not think that it needs to. This is not a just stick some seeds in dirt set. This set along with the activity cards are meant to encourage your little one to be a little scientist and explore. What happens when I plant a coffee been? What if I plant a lemon and orange seed? What is I put certain leaves in do they grow even though they are not a seed? What great questions to explore and learn with all while getting dirty and having a ton of fun.
I love the little trowel. It is so perfect for my little one who is 6 years old. She loves the tool that fits her hand perfectly and is made just for her. Her little version of her MomMom’s garden tool.
The watering can is small and the perfect size. I am not sure about other little one’s, but if you give my little one too much water, nothing will grow because it will rot from being too wet! I also find that my little one loves her little watering can that she can lift when it is full of water. It is not too heavy like MomMom’s watering can is.
I recommend the Primary Science Plant & Grow Set 100%. There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say about this product. I love it, my little one loves it and we love planting together. MomMom and Little One bonding time.
