One company that I love is Educational Insights. I find that I am always very impressed with everything from Educational Insights. Maybe I love their products so much because they are always a hit in our house and they combine having fun and learning all into the one activity.
Yet again, Educational Insights has hit a home run with the Nancy B’s Science Club Stir-It-Up Chemistry Lab & Kitchen Experiments Journal.
Here is everything included in the Nancy B’s Science Club Stir-It-Up Chemistry Lab & Kitchen Experiments Journal….
*Test tube rack (5.75″ x 2.5″ x 2.75)
*4 Test tubes (4″ tall)
*200mL Beaker
*100mL Graduated cylinder
*Dropper
*Laboratory glasses
*Funnel
*Stirring rod
*22-Page journal of chemistry activities
I love that the kit comes with the journal of activities with a place to record results. It is great to have the idea suggestions for experiments you can run with items you probably have around the house.
I have read a few reviews where people ranked the set only 4 out of 5 stars, indicating that the kit would get 5 stars if it came with some of the ingredients in the chemistry experiments. I don’t agree with this critic at all. You can find many of the things suggested around the house and I have never seen any chemistry kit come with the stuff to do the actual experiments. I am totally thrilled they even provided experiment suggestions.
Of course, my Little One, who is 8 really wanted to invent her own experiment by mixing things from our fridge and kitchen cupboards. I loved seeing her excitement to go get different things, combine them, and see what reaction they had. We had everything from tic tacs, brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, water, hot sauce, and more getting all mixed up.
My Little One’s creativity in experimenting was only limited by what she could find in our fridge and cupboards. It was awesome.
The test tubes are a great size for Little Hands. I love the funnel and beaker in the set as it helped with the pouring of ingredients. The set also promoted safe chemistry experimenting by including the safety glasses which I loved.
There is so much that is great about the Nancy B’s Science Club Stir-It-Up Chemistry Lab & Kitchen Experiments Journal. There is nothing that I can think of that I would ask to be added to the kit. I asked my Little One this question and she said that she would have loved the set to include tweezers as well in case there was something she needed to put in the tube that was small or she should not touch. Great input from my 8 year old and I like this idea as well.
Check out this great video from Educational Insights for another great experiment idea.
The Nancy B’s Science Club Stir-It-Up Chemistry Lab & Kitchen Experiments Journal is only $24.99 at the time of this review and to me, that is an amazing prize for a product that my Little One loves to use, has fun, and is learning all at the same time. Love it!
