Last night was a family game night for us and we decided to check out Not Parent Approved, a card game that is easy, fun to play, and we loved.
The first thing I want to bring up is that the age ranking is for 8 and older. I actually think that the age ranking is more for tweens and older. I believe that there are a few card topics that younger ones just might not get.
The game has an enormous stack of red cards and a smaller stack of blue cards. The red cards are the “answer cards” and the blue cards are the “question cards.” Each player gets seven red, answer cards in their hand and as one is played, they pick up another red card in order to maintain seven red cards in their hand at all times.
Okay so who reads the blue, question card? Well the instructions say to have a burp off to decide who reads first. The loudest burp goes first. I admit, that no one playing in my group wanted to do a burp off so we just decided who was to read first and then went clockwise.
The person who reads the blue, question card does not play an answer card. They are going to receive everyone’s answer cards and be the judge as to which card is the best answer. The person who provided the best answer card keeps that blue, question card. You guessed it, the one at the end with the most blue, question cards wins the game.
The game is to be played with 4 or more players and can last as long as you wish. We played until we ran out of the 105 blue, question cards. There is no worry about having gone through all the question cards because it is a new game each time you play since there are 350 answer cards that make a new game each time.

At one point last night, I was laughing quite uncontrollably with a few snorts in there which got everyone else laughing just as hard. We had a ton of fun.
If I was going to give any recommendations, I think that kids like the cards that mention bathroom bodily functions, farts, puking, and things of that sort. I would insert more cards of this nature in the game because they make the funniest answers. The nice thing is that the game comes with a number of blank question and answer cards for you to make up your own questions and answers.
