I am chilling in my favorite chair right now feeling happy and relaxed after an amazing day with my crew at Splashdown park.
We went to Splashdown today with a group of four with the age range being 8 years old and up. Our group had those that know how to swim one adult that is not so comfortable in the water and every single one of us were smiling and having fun. Splashdown really does have something for everyone.
Of course my Little One, who is now 8 years old, was the one that did almost every slide in the park. The only slide she did not do was the one called the Black Hole. The Black Hole gets its name because it is so dark that you cannot see what is coming and that is what apparently makes the slide so much fun. I think you can tell that from my description that even us adults stayed away from the Black Hole. I consider the Black Hole for the more advanced water slide fanatic which is above our classification at this time. 🙂
My Little One did go on every other water slide though. Her favorite was the Whipper Snapper followed very closely by the Cork Screw. These slides are ones you ride down with just your body, no tube required. The tip for all these slides are that if you sit on the way down, you go slow……and if you lay down, well, you pick up some pretty great speed.
My Little One tested all the slides our sitting at first, but it did not take her long to be as flat as she could get to help get the speed up. I could hear her coming with screams of joy and excitement followed by a big splash and a “That was awesome.”
Splashdown has everything you need for a super, fun day at the water park. They have…
*Small lockers to lock those valuables up.
*Mini arcade.
*First aid room just in case.
*Changing area with a number of private change rooms.
*Washrooms
*BBQ’s that you can gain access to that run on propane they have there. Do not bring your own BBQ’s as they are not permitted.
*There is a concession with food such as hamburger platters.
*Ice cream shop.
*Vending machines with drinks and chocolate bars.
*Picnic tables
*Grassy area
*Tables and chairs
*And of course lifeguards.
*Hot tub
*Pool area
*Slides for all ages and levels.
We arrived at just a bit before 11 am and the park was not too busy. There were basically no lineups at the water slides.
As the day progressed it did get a bit more busy, but the staff helped keep everything moving along so the time spent waiting for your turn at the slide was completely reasonable and quick.
We stayed a total of 4 hours at Splashdown and we could have stayed even longer. My Little One certainly did not want to leave.
Whether you want a day of water slides, or just a fun day at a pool where you can set up an area for your family and friends to enjoy time together, I recommend that you check out Splashdown. We had an absolute blast and cannot wait until the next time we visit Splashdown.
Remember that Splashdown is also awesome for corporate parties, family reunions, and birthday parties so get the gang together and go have some fun.
