MomMomOnTheGo and family recently went on a wonderful Super Duper Publications game night spree of fun, entertainment and excitement. We played great, educational games that have been made to entice, entertain and engage kids.
My Little One, who is 6 years old, saw the three games that we got to play at one time. The one that caught her eye first was Grammar Gumballs Board Game.
Grammar Gumballs is a sweet game for teaching and reinforcing basic grammar skills in young children. It targets nine of the early morphemes and grammatical structures identified by Roger Brown (1973). Children with language and learning difficulties often leave these structures out of their speech. Grammar Gumballs includes five levels of difficulty for each illustration. You begin with a simple listening/imitation task and gradually progress to spontaneous production.
To play, fill up the gumball machine game board with gumball tokens. Choose the card set(s) you wish to teach. Have the students draw a card. Then, read them the questions that match the card from the lessons and activities book. As the students answer the questions, they spin the spinner and take that number of gumballs from the machine. At the end of the game, the student with the most gumball tokens is the winner!

180 illustrated cards
80 gumball tokens.
64-page lessons and activities book with fun, reproducible homework sheets.
Printable CD-ROM.
Grammar Gumballs is recommended for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 3. I agree with this age ranking. My 6 year old loves Grammar Gumballs. Super Duper Publications made sure to make this game attractive for kids with the colorful gumballs.
What I love about Grammar Gumballs is that it has different levels so you can make the game perfect for your players. There is nothing that I love more than seeing my Little One feeling accomplished, proud of herself and having fun all at the same time. She was so thrilled every time she was successful and even more thrilled when she got to pick gumballs.
Grammar Gumball Board Game is an awesome game that is great for the classroom and good for home. With use at home, it is best to have one person act as the teacher in the group to direct the game.
The next game that grabbed my Little One’s attention was Pirate Talk.
Your students are about to embark on a swashbuckling adventure as they sail the high seas with Pirate Talk, the receptive and expressive language skills game! As students respond to each prompt, they move from island to island on the colorful game board and collect gold coins. The prompts reinforce seven essential communication skills:
Sentence Repetition
Answering Questions
Following Directions
Categorizing
Inferencing
Describing
Social SkillsEasily adapt game play to meet each student’s needs by choosing the appropriate prompt(s). Questions build receptive and expressive language skills while targeting five categories of social interaction: School, People, Home, Community, and Activities. And the 150 color-coded cards are easy to sort, making prep time shorter than it takes to say “Ahoy, mateys!”

Pirate Talk is another Super Duper Publications game that ensures it appeals to kids. Pirates and Treasure! Yep need I really say anymore?! You can bet that my Little One had that board set up in a second and playing with the treasure.
Pirate Talk is another game that adapts with levels that can be chosen to suit your player. It is a great game and i loved seeing my Little One excited and proud of herself for getting the answers correct. I also love the electronic spinner. Thankfully you can choose to turn the sound off on the electronic spinner if you wish.
Pirate Talk is age ranked for Kindergarten to Grade 5. I think that Super Duper Publications is right on when they age rank their games.
The last game that we played was Ask & Answer “Wh” Bingo.
Wow! It’s the Who, What, When, Where, and Why Bingo Game! Students will have many amusing times playing “Wh” Bingo as they learn to ask and answer “Wh” questions.

Why should you play? – This game will help students increase their comprehension and verbal expression of “Wh” question skills.
Where can you play? – Anywhere! School, home, in the car, etc.

When your students ask for “Wh” fun, answer them with
Ask & Answer® “Wh” Bingo! 2 to 6 players.
Bingo, there is nothing better than Bingo! I don’t think I have ever met a child or an adult that does not get excited and smile over Bingo.
The age rank for this game is Pre-Kindergarten and up. Your entire family will have a great time with Ask & Answer “Wh” Bingo. This game is also great for schools, tutor classes and a daycare setting.
The Ask & Answer “Wh” Bingo game helps your younger players grasp the concepts of Who, What, Where, When and Why all while have fun. Another great, educational game from Super Duper Publications.
