Electro Dough Project Kit
If you follow me regularly, you know that the thing I love most is products that have kids learning while having fun. I get over the moon excited to rip open packages and put these types of products to the test. So when I came across the company Tech Will Save Us I was like a little kid in a candy store full of STEM products. 🙂
We recently got to check out the Tech Will Save Us Electro Dough Project Kit which mixes dough building with electrical circuits to create an amazingly fun and educational experience.
Electro Dough Project Kit
The grandmaster of dough kits! An immersive world of conductive dough teaching kids how to build electrical circuits through tactile play. Experience a range of exciting projects designed to let kids get creative with technology. The Kit comes with step-by-step online tutorials for 20+ projects. Let’s dough this!
This kit is centered on completing lots of short and easy projects. Each project is made with a mixture of dough, electronic components and pop-out cards. These allow for finished-looking outcomes easily. With each project, there is a challenge at the end for kids to customize it and make it their own, reinforcing the learning achieved. This kit also includes a buzzer to play with sound.
What’s in the box
- 1x Battery pack (batteries included)
- 5x Pots Electro Dough
- 10x Lights
- 1x Buzzer
- 2x Connectors
- 4x Pop Sheets
I find that any time a product is hands-on with learning built it, that is is an engaging, entertaining, and fun product.
With the Electro Dough Project Kit, it says it is recommended for ages 4 and older. I would make the assumption that they put 4 and older because there are small pieces that you do not want kids putting in their mouths. There are also sharp points and edges within the kit.
I believe that the Electro Dough Project Kit would appeal to older kids. If you are doing the Electro Dough Project Kit with 4 to 5-year-olds, I would suggest that parents will find that they need to work with their kids or have an older sibling working with them. As we hit from about 6 to 8 years old and up, I think that the kit is something workable as an individual experience, but honestly, I think you will find that the kit attracts moms, dads, and older siblings anyway.
When I first brought the Electro Dough Project Kit into our house, my 12-year-old was drawn right to it. She was curious about the kit and wanted to explore what it was all about. Full disclosure, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the kit as well. 🙂
The Electro Dough Project Kit is both fun and rewarding. The fun comes in the hands-on building of the project, the reward comes when the project lights up or buzzes when the creator correctly connects the simple circuits.
There are online manuals available as well through the Tech Will Save Us – Club Make.
There are quite a few Tech Will Save Us kits and they all look pretty intriguing. They have kits for kids anywhere from 4 years old to over 11 years old.
