One thing I like to do with my children is to make sure they document great moments and memories especially when we are on vacation or on a special trip. Of course the most popular way to do this is through photographs. You can take the photos or even let your children use the camera to take a few photos from their perspective.
Another amazing way to have your children remember their vacation is to do a journal of it. To me, a vacation journal is a great way to have your little one document a vacation from their perspective and to create a keepsake for them.
Often upon the return from summer vacation, our children are asked to do a presentation about their summer vacation. How wonderful it would be to have had your children create their very own vacation journal and be ready to share their wonderful summer experiences.
The Victoria Chart Company is very intuitive into the needs of children and things that focus on development and their Vacation Journal is yet another quality, educational product.
The Victoria Chart Company, My Vacation Journal is a seven day journal that has a page for each day. It allows your children to document what they did on that day, what their favorite thing was about that day and also leaves a large space for a drawing and to put things that were collected from that day.
The journal is rated for ages 4 and up and I think that this is a perfect age rating. The journal can be done with a 4 year old with a little reading help. My 10 year old gets really excited with these Vacation Journals and even before the vacation starts personalizing the outside of the journal with stickers.
Come September, when my 5 year old and my 10 year old need to provide a presentation about their great summer vacation, they can walk into class with a journal that documents their wonderful time, favorite times and even the things they collected along the way. Then when their presentation is done, I can tuck the journal away as a keepsake for when they are older. As an adult, I would love to have a vacation journal to look back upon now from my childhood.
This 20 page activity book provides children with the perfect project for time away from school!
It encourages children to write, color, draw, stick, collect and eventually show what they have been doing during their vacation.
There are seven days to complete. Each day has a ‘Why not …’ section suggesting fun things to try and do. Plus, there is a daily checklist for children to complete helping them understand the importance of sun protection.
Some children will need more help than others completing the Journal, better still why not get the whole family involved.
Once completed they are a fabulous keepsake!
The vacation Journal is available through internet purchase and is very affordable in my opinion at $6.99 plus $4.00 Shipping.
