MomMomOnTheGo has previously reviewed Zoomer, the interactive dog so I felt pretty prepared to put our new Zoomer Zuppy, Candy, to the test.
The first thing that I have to mention is that Zoomer and the Zuppies are very different. Zoomer is like having an electronic pet dog that moves around. Zoomer Zuppies do not move around. This could be a negative for some if you are hoping for an interactive dog that moves around. If this is what you are looking for, then I suggest that you skipped the Zuppy and go right to Zoomer.
If you are looking for an interactive, cute puppy and you are okay that it does not move around on its own, then you have to check out the Zuppies.
Our Zoomer Zuppy is Candy. She is adorable and pink. There is nothing better than a pink, interactive dog for a Little One. Candy responds to touch and the amount of attention that she receives. Candy has interactive games, plays music, and can do tricks.
Candy’s legs are articulated and can be moved. Candy just does not move around on her own.
Candy takes 3 AAA batteries which are not included with your purchase.
Zoomer Zuppies are recommended for ages 5 and up. I agree with this age ranking if you wish to have your child play with their Zuppy on their own. I think that a child that is 4 years old would enjoy a Zuppy a lot, but might require a parent’s assistance in using all her features and functions.
Zuppy is smaller in size compared to the popular Zoomer. Here is a photo of our Zoomer and our Zuppy side by side so that you can see the size difference. It is clear that the Zuppy is smaller and really made to resemble a puppy.
Zoomer Zuppies do a lot and there is a lot to love about them….
*Color options – 4 to choose from (Zuppies Scarlet, Zuppies Roxy, Zuppies Spot, and Zuppies Candy)
*Durable
*Music – You can even make your own custom music by adding barks to the track. Just tap Candy’s head when you want to bark to the beat.
*Interactive games – Ping Pong, Brick Breaker, Bop It, and Higher Lower.
*Reacts to attention – Pet, play, and wave your hand, and Candy will react and respond to you. Scratch Candy’s chest and you’ll be rewarded with happy barks and panting noises. Press Candy’s nose and back buttons in different combinations to activate various reactions and activities.
*Can position her with her movable legs.
*Responds to the amount of attention it receives (Happy with a lot, sad when ignored)
*Batteries seem to last quite long.
*Has a protection mode that protects its owner. This is a really cute feature.
If I had to say one thing that could be added to Zoomer Zuppies, I would say it could use a volume control. It would be nice to be able to turn up or down the Zuppy depending on the environment it is being used in.
I think that Zommer Zuppies are awesome. I have read a number of reviews and many are upset that Zoomer Zuppies do not move. However, the Zuppies are not advertised as being moving robots, they are an interactive toy. So please do not rate Zoomer Zuppies poorly because you wanted a Zoomer that moved around instead of a Zuppy that is an interactive toy.
Zoomer Zuppies do exactly what they are advertised to do and I think they do it not only well, but great. For this reason, the line of Zoomer Zuppies makes it onto the 2014 MomMomOnTheGo Christmas Wish List.
If you are looking to purchase a Zoomer Zuppy, you can find them at most major retailers or online at Amazon Canada and Amazon USA.
If you are purchasing a Zoomer Zuppy, make sure to read a little about each one as each one has their own personality. Candy is the sweet and sparkly pink Zuppy. Scarlet is a artsy, edgy, glam rock Zuppy. Roxy is the funky, sweet and totally upbeat Zuppy. Spot is the quirky, funny and game-playing Zuppy.
