Every year, MomMomOnTheGo and family bundle up and head out to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Canyon Lights. It is one of my favorite Christmas family outings that we do.
This year at Canyon Lights, they added an area where you sing Christmas Carols into a microphone and as you do, you light up the side of the hill. This was a favorite for my Little One this year.
Capilano Suspension Bridge provides a wonderful backdrop for getting awesome family photos. There are so many lights everywhere you turn and all within a breathtaking outdoor setting.
There is live Christmas music by the Outpost store with an area to sit and relax for a bit to help create a wonderful holiday atmosphere and cheer.
We always go over the suspension bridge first and walk around Trout Lake and then do the Treetop Walk. The lights are beautiful and we love the views up high from within the treetops.
After a wonderful walk around the lake and up high in the trees, we make our way back over the suspension bridge again to browse the Outpost. The Outpost has the best fudge and souvenirs. We like to get our fudge and then sit at the tables outside and have a wee bit while listening to the live Christmas music.
Next we move on to the Cliff Walk. One of my favorite walks is the Cliff Walk. It provides a pretty amazing view and perspective.
As all the attraction is outside, I recommend trying to go on a nice evening where you can enjoy being outside and taking photos.
The suspension bridge does swing as you walk over it, so it can be challenging for anyone that has any balance issues. If you are afraid of heights, I do recommend going during Canyon Lights as you are not really as aware of how high up you are as compared to walking over the bridge during the daylight hours.
The Cliff Walk is a more stable bridge and does not swing at all. There are quite a few stairs for the Cliff Walk.
Throughout the park, there are places to sit and take a break if you wish. There are also very nice washroom facilities which I really love.
We love our yearly trip to Canyon Lights and would never miss it. It really puts you in the Christmas spirit and provides the best opportunities for photos.
