I love trying to find those few quiet moments when I can sneak in a little reading. I am a busy mom, just like all other moms so reading is definitely a luxury for me. When I do find time to read, I like to grab a Chicken Soup for the Soul book. With their structure of short stories, it allows me to read a one here and there when I have time. I also love how inspiring and heart touching the stories can be.
When I saw that one of the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul books was The Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide, well it was absolutely imperative that I read it. The topic was of course a perfect fit for me!
Moms are the busiest people in the world! They juggle kids, husbands, jobs, housework, and more. This collection will inspire and entertain masters of multitasking with its 101 stories from busy moms like them. Filled with words of wisdom, lessons learned, funny moments and juggling success, this book will brighten any mother’s day.
How busy of a Mom are you? Do you take on more than your share? Do you often feel like you are on the go and there is never time left over for you?
I know that I can take on too much. Sometimes I just never know how I get everything done. I have 3 kids (ages 20, 12, and 7) 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bunny, and of course my better half. I work full time, am a mommy blogger :), the 1st VP of our local female hockey association, and I manage hockey and lacrosse teams.
I was also a Division Coordinator for soccer, but just last week I realized that I was taking too much on and had to resign from that position. That is right, I decided to put me first and I actually resigned from a position. It was a tough decision, but I made it. Of course I was overwhelmed with feelings of guilt with the decision, but with the inspiration of The Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide, I realized that I needed to prioritize things including a little me time. I was not failing by limiting what I could take on, but rather ensuring I would succeed by taking on what I can in fact handle.
This year I have also decided to step back from managing some of the teams that I manage. I have taken on a greater role with being the 1st VP for the female hockey association so I am still giving back, but in a bigger role this year.
I am hoping that through my decisions to structure and realistically help in volunteer roles where I can, that I leave some me time in there as well as time for date nights with my better half. After all, everyone in my household is a lot better off when I feel happy, healthy, refreshed, and ready to take on the world. The way I get to feeling great is making sure I pay attention to little old me as well.
If you are a Mom, or even a multitasking person, then I recommend that you take a read of Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide. The Multitasking Mom’s Survival Guide will have you smiling, laughing, inspired, and relating to other busy supermoms.
