Over the last three weeks, I have been a part of the Seventh Generation Green Your Routine Challenge. It has been an eye opening and wonderful challenge to date. I have focused on litterless lunches as one of the aspects of the Green Your Routine Challenge.
I have relied heavily on the Laptop Lunch Bento Box 2.0 that can be purchased at Reuseit.com.
*Creative & economical system for helping parents pack wholesome, low-waste meals
*A fun, sustainable alternative to wasteful, single-use containers – saves you money
*Ideal for school lunches and for packing a healthy meal during travel
*Includes large outer container and five microwave safe food containers
*BPA-free, also free of phthalates and lead
*Made in the USAPlease note: Bento Box 2.0 is about 1/4-inch deeper than the original bento set & not compatible with the original set. See Product Details tab for more information.
Thoughtfully designed to cut down on the consumption of wasteful, single-use containers that inundate our school lunchrooms, the Laptop Lunch bento box promotes lunchtime nutrition by offering parents a way to replace processed, prepackaged foods with more nutritious alternatives. Kids love the colorful, puzzle piece containers that fit snugly into the stylish thermal carrying case. And like all of the products we offer, it provides a smart combination of function, durability, style and value.
Although we have the Pink and Lavender set as pictured above, the Laptop Lunch Bento Box comes in Primary, Purple Party, Berry Blue and Navy and Plum as well. There is sure a color that you and your little ones will love.
I love having one container that holds my little ones lunch. With her just starting kindergarten, I know that she is too busy having fun to be checking what is in a bunch of different containers. With the Bento Box, she can open the main compartment up and see most of her lunch. She only then needs to open the lids on some of the tiny compartments inside that are containing things that needed a cover, such as pudding or dip.
Lunches are tough to keep exciting and having a larger all in one space helps give me the room to attempt to be a little more creative with what I am sending for lunch. I am so happy to have the Bento Box. I also feel so great about providing a litterless lunch. It is truly easy to leave a greener footprint on the planet.
I have seen some people say they think that the Bento Box is expensive. I do not think it is expensive at all. For only $23.95 you get a complete lunch kit totally 9 pieces. I am more than certain that we were spending more than the cost of the Bento Box in one year on saran wrap and baggies.
Reuseit.com sells more than lunch products though. Make sure to take a look at their website and check out the fun and money saving ways you can help Green Your Routine.
