MomMomOnTheGo and crew headed to Harrison Watersport for a day of fun.
Harrison Watersport is approximately a 2 hour drive from Vancouver, BC. Our adventure started off closer than Vancouver, so our drive was only an hour and a half.
With two 8 year old girls in the car knowing that we were heading to Harrison Watersport, there was a lot of excitement all the way there.
The day we attended Harrison Watersport, it was a wee bit overcast. It was not extremely busy at all the day we attended which honestly was very nice.
I spoke to one of the lifeguards and asked what the capacity is for Harrison Watersport and was told it is 300 people. I personally could not imagine being on the inflatable waterpark with 300 people on it. The waterpark moves because it is floating. The surface also gets slippery when wet, which is what is great for the slides. It makes walking around a bit fun and challenging as well. 🙂
When you arrive at the water park, they fit you up with a life jacket so no need to bring one. There are also a number of lockers available to lock your items up. You will need a toonie for the locker. You are not allowed to bring anything out to the water park so only bring down the few things you will need once you leave the water park such as a towel and shoes.
The day we went to Harrison Watersport the lake water was quite cold. You have the option of renting a wet suit when you check in, and if it is a cooler day, I do recommend renting a wet suit.
In order to get back and forth to the water park, you take a ride out on a banana boat.
The ride on the banana boat is less than a minute and fun. The banana boat goes back and forth from the water park every 30 minutes or so, so you can get on and off as you wish.
You receive a stamp so that you can come and go to the water park as you please throughout the day. Please note that the water park is open from 11 am to 6 pm, so your visits have to be within operating times.
Once you are on the water park there is a ton to do. From things to climb, jump off, slide on, and even two swings, your family will have a blast.
Harrison Watersport is the most unique water park that I have ever seen or been to. It is well worth the days of admission because in my opinion the value for the fee is amazing. I have been to other water parks and their fee is similar but do not come anywhere to having the same type of water park fun.
We went on the water park for a few hours and then went back to shore to enjoy some time on the bumper boats. The bumper boats can sit two people and are a blast. You drive them around the area in front of the water park and get is a water fight as there is a water gun to spray each other with. We went on the bumper boats for 30 minutes and that is more than enough time to have some bumper boat fun.
The bumper boats are an extra cost on top of the water park so you do not have to do them unless you wish to as part of your day of fun.
When we were there, the water park itself was $30 per person and the bumper boats were $21 per person.
Our two 8 year old girls were allowed to go in their own bumper boat and us two adults went in another bumper boat. We could have each taken a bumper boat out ourselves, but it was really fun to go in with someone and chase each other as teams.
After the bumper boats we headed back out to the water park for more slip and sliding fun.
There are lifeguards on the water park that keep an eye on everyone and also keep everyone in check. There were a group of rowdy boys in their teens when we were there and they actually slid into a little girl, knocking her down. The lifeguards addressed this issue and ensured that the boys toned it down and used the water park properly and safely.
Harrison Watersport is a unique and awesome water park adventure. I can see a trip to Harrison Watersport becoming a summer tradition. Everyone in my crew highly recommends a checking out Harrison Watersport.
You can also rent a sea-doo at Harrison Watersport of you wish. We never got around to doing this though as we were exhausted from our fun on the water park itself.
