3 Things to Look For In a Gaming Chair

3 Things to Look For In a Gaming Chair

April 24, 2018 By MomMomOnTheGo

The gaming industry has seen an explosion in popularity over the last couple of decades. More and more people are buying consoles like the PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox and gaming PC’s, hereby immersing themselves into a whole new world of entertainment. This has been enabled by the recent improvements in computer technology making the latest PCs and consoles robust enough to handle the rigorous hardware requirements for gaming. However, one such requirement that is often overlooked and is equally important is a gaming chair. A good chair is key in transforming the gaming into a more pleasurable experience. So what things should you consider when buying a gaming chair?

1. Quality
The materials used in making a gaming chair are what define good quality. Before landing a purchase, be on the lookout for a plethora of specifications that define quality such as the fabric and the fillings used to make the chair cover, paddings, legs, metal type, and much more. The wheels too should be durable as they easily break off. Even though a gaming chair may come with a warranty, once a part is broken, it gets difficult to get a replacement. Additionally, a good quality gaming chair should have many adjustable functions for optimal settings on back angle and posture. Choose the perfect dxracer with GotUrBack guides.

2. Comfort
According to a 2013 study by Nielsen, the average human aged from 13 years and above spends about 6.3 hours gaming. To put this into perspective, these statistics include even those who do not play at all. Therefore, hardcore gamers would clock more time seated while playing games and would definitely want to have a comfortable chair during this long hours. The key to unparalleled comfort in gaming chairs is finding the correct weight distribution and proper lateral support. Moveable cushions and backrests that fit into the contours of your body supporting proper posture add to the recipe of a comfy chair. Additionally, the chair should also have a high back for more spinal and neck support.

3. Value
As you would expect, finding a quality gaming chair that offers good comfort for long gaming hours will come at a price. Some quality gaming chairs will have a price tag northwards of 600$. All the same, you would want value for your money. If your budget does not warrant that kind of spending, you could look for a chair that best suits you. It is important to note that there are several types of gaming chairs out there like the rocker, pedestal, racer and bean bag gaming chairs and depending on your budget, you could choose the type that best fits you and is within your budget. Some chairs have extra features like headrest speaker, vibration, Bluetooth and headset ports. Forgoing some of this features would save you a few bucks.

There are a multitude of other qualities to consider such as system compatibility, space, armrests, design, vibration system and color but getting a good quality, comfortable chair at a good price will surely put a smile on any gamer’s face.
