March 25, 2016 By MomMomOnTheGo

MomMomOnTheGo and crew headed out to the Vancouver Aquarium the other day to discover the awesome Discover Rays Exhibition.

The Vancouver Aquarium built a brand new 50,000 litre touch pool as the home of cownose rays and southern stingrays. Visitors to the Aquarium can touch the stingrays as they swim around the 50,000 litre pool. It is a spectacular, once in a lifetime experience.

The stingray pool is surrounded by information and facts to help learn more about the stingrays. My Little One was very inspired by the stingray pool and all the facts that she is doing her school speech on stingrays now.

How big are the rays? #discoverrays #vancouveraquarium #vanaqua #stingrays

New Touch Pool
Now Open

Are you ready to connect with our oceans like never before? Well, roll up your sleeve and come have a unique, hands-on encounter at the Discover Rays touch pool at the Vancouver Aquarium. Watch as these gentle fishes “fly” beneath the water’s surface, delighting and surprising guests with their curiosity.

The new 50,000L Discover Rays touch pool is home to both cownose and southern stingrays. Not only will you be able to get up-close and personal with the rays, you’ll learn all about their slimy armours, their amazing sixth sense, and why stingrays have big mommas. You’ll also find out how overfishing and other human activities are threatening rays. The exhibit will offer a unique window behind-the-scenes where you can take a peek at the life support systems and discover how these animals are cared for.

Located adjacent to the Lower Teck gallery, Discover Rays is included with the purchase of your general admissions ticket and is a fun and educational experience for visitors of all ages.

The rays are a wonderful experience and as always, the rest of the Aquarium has its wonderful exhibits to visit. Our all time favorites are the otters, belugas, penguins, and jelly fish.

We love the Vancouver Aquarium. I love all the work they do to help aquatic life. I love the educational experience it provides to youth and adults alike.

Make sure you head to the Vancouver Aquarium to Discover Rays while the exhibit is there.

We had a great time visiting and touching the #stingrays at the #vancouveraquarium #vanaqua #discoverrays
