I like to share resources that help people in their travels and when I came across MapAround, I knew that I had to let everyone know about it….

MapAround is a search engine that helps you discover events and other activities happening in the Boston area. No longer do you need to scroll through long lists of events across multiple websites to find something relevant for you. MapAround aggregates events from many trusted sources to bring you the full picture of what is happening around you, all in one place. Through our convenient and easy-to-use map and list features, you can search and filter for events on the days and times that work for you. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, find entertainment, or learn something new, MapAround connects you with the activities that matter to you most.

MapAround covers the following entertainment and travel categories for the Boston area…

*Art & Music
*Business & Technology
*Dating & Singles
*Education & Classes
*Food & Drinks
*Kids & Family
*Nightlife
*Sports & Outdoors

When you click on a category, such as Art & Music, you get a list of events around town along with a map and a description of the event. Here is a screenshot of the results when I click on Arts & Music.

Just in this one category, there are 336 results that you can search through. That would be a lot of time being spent on a search engine if you had to look for individual attractions and events.

What is wonderful is that you can narrow the search down to an exact time frame. So whether you live there and just want to know what is going on over the entire summer, or you are going on vacation in the Boston area, you can set the date parameters that fit your area of interest. With so many results returning, it is an awesome feature to be able to narrow the results to a specific date range.

What I love about MapAround is that they have really tried to hit many of the categories so that there is something there for everyone. So whether you are a family, single, on a business trip, live in the area, or on vacation, MapAround will help you know what is going on around you in the Boston area.

I love the idea of MapAround and hope that they expand into many more cities.

I don’t currently see a MapAround App, but this is something I would love to see as MapAround grows.
