Family Travel – Benidorm Spain

August 16, 2016 By MomMomOnTheGo

Planning travel can be tough when you have a family. You want a place that is family friendly that both the kids and adults will enjoy. You also want it to be memorable and affordable. After all, most of us only have time to fit in a trip a year whether it is more local or a travel destination. With busy schedules, the pressure is on to make the trip count.

I have been researching a number of places and more recently someone mentioned to me Benidorm Spain. So I thought, okay let’s do a little research on Benidorm for my fans. So here is the leg work done for you if you are considering a trip to Benidorm…..

Benidorm was a small fishing village until about 1960. Now Benidorm is a well know tourism destination with beautiful beaches.

Benidorm beaches

Benidorm has a Blue Flag status. Every single night they clean the 2 main beaches; Levante, which is the busier beach with a bar lined promenade, swinging bridges, and slides out to see :), and Poniente, the quieter beach.

There is an older part of Benidorm that can be located inland and rests between the two beaches Poniente and Levante. The newer areas that have been more recently developed is where you will find the hotels and are located near the two beaches.

In the evenings Belidorm’s night life comes alive with comedians, clowns, tribute bands, and much more.

There also seems to be endless attractions for travellers to choose between such as the Benidorm Circus, Encounter with Dolphins, Terra Natura Wildlife Park, Aqua Natura Waterpark, and even a trip via glass-bottomed boat to Peacock Island.

There are a number of hotels to choose between in Benidorm, but the top ranked hotels appear to be as follows:

*Hotel Flamingo Oasis
*Port Benidorm
*Hotel Levante Club
*Hotel Princesa
*Magic Aqua Monika Holidays

Benidorm

With gorgeous clean beaches, beautiful hotels, and what seems like countless attractions for the entire family, Benidorm seems like a wonderful place to consider for a family trip. But what about the weather?

If you like hot to sizzling hot, then summer in Benidorm is for you. The mainland temperatures in July and August usually hit 30 degrees Celsius. If you like long sunny days, then you will like the Balearics where they get around 11 hours of sunshine a day. If you need it a little cooler, the Canary Islands are usually in the high 20’s. For Spring and Autumn, the temperatures are warm and usually around the mid 20’s. Winter escapes can be beautiful as well with temperatures hovering around 20 degrees Celsius in the Canaries and also on the mainland in Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz. Just keep in mind that in winter, there can be a little rain.

With what seems like something for everyone, it is time to brush up on your Spanish, pack your sunscreen, and head out for a family adventure to Benidorm.

If you have been to Benidorm please share your experience and tips with all of us.
