Green Your Routine – Moving Forward Green

September 17, 2012 By MomMomOnTheGo

How is your Green Your Routine Challenge coming along?

Well think back a few weeks now and we have achieved litterless lunches, green cleaning and green transportation. Are you still moving forward green with the last three challenges?

Talking about moving forward green……let’s talk about how we can keep being green and ensure our entire family is keeping up the green routine.

A big part of teaching environmental stewardship to your children is engraining responsibility into the fabric of your household. Think back to your own childhood and the habits your parents may have taught or passed down to you. Whether it’s how to do your laundry, or what kind of brands you stock your cupboards with, you carry on their behaviors simply because it’s what you’ve always known.

If we involve our kids and family members in how to pick and plan their litterless lunch, their green mode of transportation and green cleaners, they will be more likely to hop on board and have the green way of life a part of them as they move forward. Empower your family members to take on the green your routine challenges as you move forward by empowering them to help create the ways to achieve being green.

How will you ensure and empower your family members to move forward being green? How do you explain the importance of greening your routine to your family, especially your kids?

We have loved this Green Your Routine Challenge and are feeling quite good about our accomplishments. I think the hardest part is toughing the horrible weather and getting somewhere through green transportation instead of just hoping in the car. What was your hardest challenge to stick with?

Remember to enter the awesome giveaway from Seventh Generation. I am looking forward to announcing the winner and rewarding one of you have been doing the Green Your Routine Challenge along with my family.
