Just because school is out during spring break (March 17-28, 2014), that doesn’t mean that your children can’t stay active and learning—all while creating memories they’ll never forget. For the first time, Vancouver Aquarium’s AquaCamps—typically taking place each summer – is now offering two weeks of full day camp during spring break for students in grades K-8.
AquaCamps is a special time when kids can connect to aquatic animals they may have never seen before, as well as to the people who work with them. It’s a rare opportunity to spend a full week at the Aquarium, and to learn more about the care that goes into aquatic life.
The youngest campers will have a fantastic time learning about animals, ecosystems and conservation through crafts, games and activities based throughout the Aquarium and behind the scenes. There will even be dress-up days when campers can spend the day looking like their favourite animal while learning more about it.
For the more science-minded students, there is an incredible wealth of knowledge at our finger tips here at the Aquarium. Some pretty amazing research takes place behind closed doors, and AquaCamps is the ideal way for students to learn about the various techniques that scientists use to monitor aquatic life and also to see what it takes to become a marine biologist or researcher.
AquaCamps run during the weeks of March 17 and 24. Students currently in grades K-8 are eligible. Space is limited, so avoid disappointment and register today!
