If the name Aegis Impact or Aegis Impact Protection sounds familiar it is probably because you have heard me raving about their products before. My Little One and I have reviewed the Aegis Impact Protection Bracers and the Aegis Impact Protection Interceptor bibbed neck guard.
This time around we have put the Aegis Impact Interceptor bibbles neck guard to the test.
The Aegis Interceptor is the world’s first combined impact and slash resistant neck guard specifically designed for hockey players. With a mandate to wear slash resistant neck protection, young hockey players are still exposed to the risk of being struck by an acute impact. The Interceptor is constructed with a combination of moisture controlling, stretch fabrics and high performing Kevlar™ fibres.
Aegis Interceptor designs come with decades of sportswear manufacturing knowledge behind them. We don’t skip on fabrics, materials or quality. Aegis is comfortable, durable and doesn’t get in the way.
Aegis hockey throat guards perform like no other, with revolutionary D3O® impact protection technology. While being thin and lightweight the Interceptor provides impact protection several times more effective than other materials, while still allowing full wearer mobility.
Constructed with D3O®’s unique impact resistant technology, Aegis hockey and goalie neck guards provide protection and peace of mind to sports which have until now, been lacking.
If you are looking for a neck guard that does not have a bib, then I recommend you check out the Interceptor and here is why:
*Easy to wash
*BNQ neck guard
What makes the Aegis Impact Interceptor really stand above its competitors is that they not only look after the requirement to wear a slash resistant neck guard, but they also built in D30 impact technology into the neck guard to provide the addition if impact protection. So what is the D30 impact technology? It is a layer of protection inside the neck guard that is removable for when you wish to wash the fabric portion. It does not make the neck guard bulky in any way and does not make the neck guard uncomfortable. What it does is adds the impact protection and also keeps the neck guard in shape, instead of folding over on itself like a lot of neck guards seem to do.
Here is what the D30 impact layer looks like inside the Interceptor…
That orange portion you see is the impact resistance protection.
Here is a video from Aegis Impact Protection where you can see the D30 impact protection piece…
I am totally confident that my Little One is as fully protected as she can be when she is wearing an Aegis Impact Protection Interceptor neck guard. I would not buy her any other one.
A wonderful think about the Aegis Impact Protection Interceptor neck guards is that you can choose between a bib or no bib. As I said, we have tested both out and my Little One loves them. The bibbed Interceptor goes further down and the bib tucks under your shoulder pads. If you do not want that much material, then the Interceptor without the bib will be the one for you.
My Little One always has both her bib and no bib Interceptors in her bag and she chooses which one she wishes to wear. Lately, she has been wearing the Interceptor without the bib but loves both models.
Here is my Little One with one of her heroes in hockey that she got to meet. In this photo, my Little One is dawning an Interceptor neck guard which you can tell by their familiar orange chevron symbol on it.
There is a wide range is Interceptor size availability from XS to XXL which represents neck diameter of 8.5 inches to 19 inches. So no matter the age of your hockey player, there will be an Interceptor that is right for them.
