I remember when my little ones were small I was using receiving blankets to try to swaddle them so they would sleep. My mom taught me how to use the receiving blanket to swaddle them, but it just never stayed put. With the Babybonkie Swaddle and the Velcro enclosures, the swaddle stays put to keep your little one feeling safe and snug. It keeps your little one from kicking and moving around which is what we all know they do to stop themselves from falling asleep!
I tested out two of the Babybonkie Swaddles in two different materials.
One was a cotton Fabric exterior the model I tested was called Elinor.
Elinor has bright pink and orange flowers and is made of a 100% Cotton fabric exterior with Cream Minkee Lining. The measurements of it are approximate length: 21″ and approximate width: 11.” The retail of the Elinor Babybonkie is $64.
I really liked the Elinor model, but I really loved the soft exterior of the other model I tested called Francois.
The description, measurements and price are the same for the Francois except it has a 100% Minkee Fabric Exterior with Cream Minkee Lining. So the Francois is really soft on the inside and outside. I really loved how soft the Minkee Fabric Exterior was. This exterior fabric is available in multiple colors so you can find one for a boy or a girl just as with the models made out of the 100% Cotton Fabric Exteriors.
There is also an Ecobonkie Swaddle which was “created for parents who are searching for a healthy alternative to the standard chemical and pesticide treated cotton. By using the purest 100% certified organic cotton, the Ecobonkie swaddle protects baby’s sensitive skin.” The Ecobonkie is 100% Certified Cotton Organic Fabric Exterior with Cream 100% Certified Organic Cotton Lining and retails for $68.
The BabyBonkie Swaddle is very easy to use. Instructions can be found on the Babybonkie Swaddle website and are as follows:
Step 1:
Place the Babybonkie on a flat surface. Lay your baby so that his/her legs are in the enclosed circular bottom portion.
Step 2:
Starting with left flap, fold over and fasten with Velcro tabs.
Step 3:
Now fold right flap and fasten with Velcro tabs.
As with any baby product, it must be used correctly in order to ensure it is being used safely. So the most important thing is to make sure you read the Safety Warning Instructions.

“SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
*The Babybonkie must fit snuggly around your baby to prevent the risk of the fabric covering his/her nose or mouth. Always be sure your baby’s head is uncovered.
*The Velcro around the sides of the Babybonkie must be securely fastened to fit tightly around your baby’s body and must not restrict your baby’s breathing.
*This garment is not Flame Resistant. Loose fitting garments are more likely to catch fire. For your baby’s safety, the Babybonkie should fit snuggly.
*To ensure your baby will not overheat, do not use in a room that is too warm. For your baby’s safety, we suggest the room temperature be comfortable for an adult before using the Babybonkie.
*It is best to keep the baby’s room temperature between 64-68F.
*You can use the Babybonkie with only a diaper.
*Do not swaddle your baby if he/she can roll over. Always put your baby to sleep on his/her back.
*Never allow this or any product to interfere with the proper use of car seats.
*Always follow car seat manufacturers’ instructions.”
