MomMomOnTheGo and crew headed out to Bard on the Beach the other night and we had an awesome time. It was family night at Bard on the Beach and The Comedy of Errors was on stage.
Double trouble has never been more delightful! Two sets of long-lost twins meet up unexpectedly, creating hilarious confusion for their friends, loved ones – and most of all themselves.
The Comedy of Errors is directed by actor/director and Bard Artistic Associate Scott Bellis.
The Comedy of Errors run time including the intermission is approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes.
We attended the show with three adults and my Little One who is 8 years old. She looked at me at the start of the play and said, “Mom what are they saying?!” 🙂 I told her to listen and watch and she will catch on what is happening. She did sit back and listen and watch. Not but a few minutes into the show and I looked at my Little One who was laughing.
The Comedy of Errors is a hilarious play from start to finish. The actors are amazing and it is breathtaking to see a live play that has the water and beach in the backdrop. Boats were passing out the back opening of the stage as the play was going on. It was excellent.
The play is in an outdoor covered stage so no worries if the weather is not cooperating. We were lucky to have a wonderful evening.
There were a number of things to do at Bard on the Beach. You can go early and enjoy the food truck there for dinner before the play. Emelle’s – Westside Wheels Food Truck. Featuring a selection of hot sandwiches (pulled pork, chicken, salmon) as well as tacos and deep fried cauliflower fries. West Coast cuisine with a kick! We did not do this, but next time we would for sure.
There is a store there to buy memorabilia. Everything in the store was reasonably priced.
There was an Luminous Art art station where you could write with a feather pen. There was a Pixstar photo booth on location that you could dress up and have your fun photos snapped for free. Anick Violette Studios was also on site providing a free professional photo. The photo was taken and it was indicated that they would be sent by email, but I have not received ours at the time of my review. I was hoping to share it.
We completely loved the steampunk version of The Comedy of Errors that Bard on the Beach presented. We all had an absolutely amazing time. Bard on the Beach, The Comedy of Errors is the must watch live theater show of the summer.
The venue is great and there is not a bad seat in the house on the BMO Mainstage.
The Comedy of Errors is running from June 4 – September 26 • BMO Mainstage. You can purchase your tickets for The Comedy of Errors or here.
