There is an arts and crafts product on the market called Gel-a-Peel, where kids get to make their own items from kits out of gel. Sounds pretty cool now doesn’t it? Well, my Little One is in love with her Gel-a-Peel kits.
My Little One has tested out four Gel-A-Peel kits for me and here is what we both thought of them….
Out of the four Gel-A-Peel products that entered our household all at the same time, the one that my Little One was drawn to first was the Sparkle Kit. My Little One is pictured above hard at work on her first bracelet with the Sparkle Kit.
The Sparkle Kit has 16 design templates, 3 gel tubes, 5 designer tips as well as the accessory hardware. More than 60 beginner bracelets, as per the kit, can be make with the contents of the Sparkle Kit.
My Little One was excited to break open the Sparkle Kit and began her first creation of a bracelet.
Here is my first tip….. Make sure your Little One looks at each craft card in the upper right corner where it says just how long they have to be patient and wait for their item to dry before they try to peel the item off the stencil. My Little One could not wait and tried to get it off a wee bit too early because of her excitement, which made her bracelet break. When you wait long enough, the items come off easily with the accessory tools and do not break.
Once my Little One got a taste of creating with Gel-a-Peel, the kits we had in the house just started flying open. I no longer could tell what came from which kit as it became a crafter’s dream scene of items lined up and creating beginning.
My Little One opened up the Deluxe Kit and loved the colors and number of gel tubes she got in this kit.
The Deluxe Kit comes with 24 design templates, 5 gel tubes, 7 designer tips and accessory hardware.
From the Deluxe Kit, there are earrings drying on our table along with another wonderful bracelet.
Of course, with my Little One’s favorite color being pink, the Neon Pink Kit is a hit.
The Neon Pink Kit i a smaller kit. This kit has 8 design templates, a gel tube, and a designer tip. The kit allows for the creation of over 20 beginner bracelets all in neon pink.
I think that one of the best Gel-a-Peel kits is the 3D Design Station.
The 3D Design Station allows for the creation of 3D accessories such as phone covers, jewelry, key chains, and pencil toppers. My Little One already made a phone cover for someone.
The 3D Design Station comes with 36 design templates, a design station, display stand, 4 gel tubes, 6 designer tips, and accessory hardware.
The stand allows for the easy making of the items such as the cell phone case as it is held up by the arms for designing and drying. The stand also stores all the accessories and tools in the two front drawers. As well, there is the stand for the gel tubes and tips which is very handy especially as you get more and more kits and gel tubes and tips about. The 3D Design Station helps keep the crafting organized.
Here are a few Gel-a-Peel tips for your Little One’s…
*Clean everything up after your crafting is done. Wipe the tubes down and wash your hands. The gel is sticky and needs to be cleaned.
*As I already said, wait for the time required for the drying to be complete.
*Use the tools provided to remove the items from the stencils.
*Wash the plastic pieces thoroughly after use so they are ready for the next project.
*Encourage your Little One to make something from their imagination. They can create beyond the stencils.
Here is a video of the 3D Design Station that will give you a wonderful idea of what Gel-a-Peel is….
Okay so I think it is pretty clear that we love the Gel-a-Peel. My Little One is 9 and cannot get enough of Gel-a-Peel. There are Gel-a-Peel projects sitting everywhere in our house drying.
I love when my Little One is doing arts and crafts. I love how she can sit and do Gel-a-Peel on her own. I like the multitude of projects that Gel-a-Peel provides, but I also love that she can create all on her own as well. Gel-a-Peel is a wonderful product for kids ages 8 and older.
