Grit Hockey Youth Tower

Grit Hockey Youth Tower

December 3, 2015 By MomMomOnTheGo

It is no secret that we are a hockey family and that one of the hockey companies we love is Grit. Our hockey bags, lacrosse bag, and a number of coaching bags are all Grit bags.

One of the latest Grit bags that we have tested out is the Grit Hockey Youth Tower (HYSE) bag.

Hockey Youth Tower

The HYSE is designed with the youth player’s needs in mind. Small and easy to handle, it encourages the player to take responsibility for their own equipment.

Available in only – 30 inch.

Here is a look at the shelves and spots for everything needed to be carried in the Grit Hockey Youth Tower….

HYSE Youth Hockey Tower

The Grit Hockey Youth Tower is easily recognizable as it does not have the outside pouch on it which many of the other Grit bags have. This outside pouch is where we typically get our bag embroidered with team name and player name. With the Grit Hockey Youth Tower, the embroidering will need to go right on the large front panel.

We have the Diva bag, which is black and pink. The Grit Hockey Youth Tower also comes in black, Toronto (blue), and black and red. It is available in the 30 inch size only which is meant for the younger players gear. You can see the size relation to my 8 year old in the photo above with her standing behind the bag.

Here is another photo to help judge the size of the HYSE bad. It is the one without the front pouch in the middle of the photo. The Grit Hockey Youth Tower is in between an adult tower and a Grit Hockey Pod.

We are a Grit family

Honestly, the Grit Hockey Youth Tower also makes a good bag for the coach to carry their gear and training aids to practice as well. If you are looking for a well organized wheeled tower bag that is not too big, then I recommend checking out the Grit Hockey Youth Tower.

The Grit HYSE bag is made with the same quality and technology of the larger adult Grit bags. The arms inside come down to provide strength and stability, but are able to be taken down if you wish to store the bag flat. The bag also has wonderful ventilation for good air flow so that the stinky gear does not make the bag stinky!

The Grit Hockey Youth Tower is easy to pull for the younger ones. It is a perfect bag to start your player out with as it allows them to be able to manage their own bag and be responsible for their own equipment right from the start. I do tend to see a lot of parents pulling or carrying the younger player’s gear into the rink. Why not get them a bag they can manage from the start.

Hockey Towers, namely Grit Hockey Towers are very popular among hockey families. Grit is the bag I see the most at the rink. It is really which Grit bag you need, not if you need a Grit bag.

I like the Grit Hockey Youth Tower for the younger players that are starting out. It is well made, has a spot for everything, is well ventilated, and comes in a good color choice.

You can find all Grit products in your local sports stores. If you want to see where in your area you can find the Grit products, you can check out the retailer locator here.

I am trying to choose between the youth 30 inch and the 33 inch for my 4 year old. The dimensions are very similar with the differences being 3 inches in height, a half inch in width or depth (can’t quite remember), and a half in weight. And of course the stick holder, outside pocket and mesh laundry bag on the 33 which is not on the 30, for only a $20 difference.
There is nowhere within 3 hours of where I live to actually look at these bags in person.
Next to the 30 inch, is that the 33 or 36 in the comparison picture above?

That would be the 36 inch. I would go with the 33 inch over the 30 inch.
