If you follow me regularly then you know that we are an avid hockey family. We cover every role in hockey in our household from coaches, to managers, to players, and more players, and more players….well you get the picture. 🙂
The latest item in our Hockey Series of reviews that we have put to the test is the GRIT HTSE Hockey Tower. If you are ever at the rink then you are probably familiar with the GRIT Hockey Tower. It seems that everywhere I turn, almost everyone is rolling along a Grit Hockey Tower and now I know why! Because Grit Hockey Towers blow their competition out of the water!
The GRIT HTSE Hockey Tower(tm), which replaces our most popular HT1 and includes all of the same innovations, with the addition of a frame adjustment feature. Removable composite rods provide support between the sides and base. The interior features a shelf system to help organize, dry out and keep your gear in place, removable mesh wet/dry bag, foot carpet, and plenty of storage on the door.

The Grit HTSE Hockey Tower comes in two different sizes. We have the 33 inch which is perfect for the younger kids. The adult sized Grit HTSE Hockey Tower is 36 inches and with the three extra inches, I think it would get a little to large for my 7 year old to roll around. The 33 inch fits my Little One’s hockey equipment perfectly.
The Grit HTSE Hockey Tower that we have is the all new model. In this newer model, the base folds for easy storage if you need to store your bag in the off season. The inside of the bag also has amazingly strong side supports that velcro into place to keep the bag sturdy. When you want to fold the bag away, you simply unvelcro those side supports and the bag folds pretty darn flat. I was pretty impressed.
Okay so there is a lot we love about our Grit HTSE Hockey Tower:
*Beautiful
*Durable
*Comes in pink and 11 other colors.
*Organizes equipment.
*Can be used as a drying rack.
*Tons of air holes so the gear and bag is well vented.
*Removable front pouch which is great for having team logos and such embroidered on.
*Can have two sticks on board and still roll along with one hand.
*Built in foot carpet.
*Removable mesh bag so you have a place to put wet clothes.
*Handle on the bottom and top of the bag to assist with lifting the bag.
One thing that I really have to praise the Grit HTSE Hockey Tower for is it is like a mini locker on wheels that has a built in place for every piece of gear. Why do I love this? Because now when I look at our Grit bag as we zip it closed, I can easily see if there is any gear missing. I cannot tell you how many times we have gone to the rink and realized that we forgot a shin pad, skate, helmet, or a piece of gear of some sort! Forgetting gear makes life chaotic and leaves me racing home to retrieve the forgotten item. Since we have had our Grit HTSE Hockey Tower, we have not forgotten a single piece of gear. It is hard to forget something now as you would see this big empty space in the bag if a piece of gear was not there.
When you get back home after hockey, the Grit HTSE Hockey Tower transforms into a drying rack. There are d rings and velcro on the top of the bag that help you to attach your hockey gear to the bag for airing it out. I think that this is a wonderful idea and it really is helpful when you need to dry your gear at the rink between tournament games.
There is so much we love about our new Grit HTSE Hockey Tower and because of that, it easily makes it onto our 2014 Christmas Wish List. If you have a hockey player of any size, I am sure that they will be excited to see a HTSE Hockey Tower under the tree this year.
