your reserved seats at the YVR Observation DeckVancouver, B.C. – Honda Celebration of Light is offering a ton of activities during the three-day festival, making it the perfect spot to spend a full day of family fun this summer. The spectacular fireworks show might be the main event, but the live music, food trucks and sponsor activations line-up round out a full day of activities.
Located at Second Beach in Stanley Park, this free all ages area will feature live music, food trucks, sponsor activations, a site-wide liquor license activities for the entire family with the Honda Canada area and the RE/MAX Family Zone. Bring your friends and family, kick back and relax in the sun while you enjoy the music!
“Fireworks, family and fun just naturally go together,” says Heather Owen, West End resident and co-chair of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society who will be attending the festival with her husband and eleven year-old daughter. “What could be better than sharing this not-to-be-missed experience with the people you love the most on a Vancouver beach under a summer night sky?”
Channel your inner funkmaster at The Park Stage at Second Beach while listening to the diverse musical lineup. The free concert will feature the musical stylings of talents like Jully Black, Five Alarm Funk and Busty and the Bass. Rhythm will fill the air all day on July 28 the, August 1 st and August 4th leading up to the fireworks show high above Metro Vancouver. This is the perfect location to sit back with family and friends, relax in the sun and enjoy the music.
The best of Vancouver’s food truck scene will be lined up along Beach Ave. offering something for everyone. Take a stroll to find a whole range of delicious choices, including The Kaboom Box, Vancouver favorite Hunky Bill’s, Reel Mac & Cheese and Kampong. You’re sure to find mouth-watering meals to please even the pickiest of palates. And to finish it all off, stop by for a scoop at Rocky Point Ice Cream.
Make sure to keep your eyes in the skies as all three nights of the festival will feature the Pete McLeod Airshow dazzling the crowd above English Bay. On Saturday, August 1 st, before Sweden’s fireworks performance, the Pete McLeod Airshow will also be joined by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. All three airshows are sure to be a hit amongst those young and old!
When it comes time for the fireworks, avoid the hustle and bustle of trying to find a spot on the beach by booking a ticket for the YVR Observation Deck. With an incredible festival line-up featuring South Africa, Sweden, and South Korea, it’s the perfect place for families to sit back while enjoying the show. The Honda Celebration of Light is B.C’s largest public event and the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world. It attracts up to 500,000 spectators along English Bay each night.
