Vancouver, B.C. – Festival Organizers of the 2016 Honda Celebration of Light have launched an all-new smartphone app to coincide with the 26th year to aid festival goers in enjoying the fireworks competition, the SHOREFEST Concert series and the whole day of festivities. Honda Celebration of Light Event Guide is now available for a free download in the iTunes and Android App Stores.
Returning for it’s 26th year, the longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world, the Honda Celebration of Light, is set to host the Netherlands on Saturday July 23rd, Australia on Wednesday July 27th and the United States on Saturday July 30th.
The app offers discovery settings with details about venues, acts, and viewing lounges so you know how you want to enjoy the festival. What’s more, there is the added option to ‘favourite’ acts, venues, etc. so you can receive a notification when they are upcoming.
Once users have decided what they want to do and see, there is an easy to access calendar on the app with the schedule of events, including dates, times and locations for festival days. The app is complete with maps as well, to make it easier to navigate the event.
To make sure users are up to date on festival details, the app offers easy access to the official Honda Celebration of Light Facebook and Twitter accounts where live updates will be posted. And in case festival goers didn’t get reserved seating tickets in time or find a viewing spot near someone with a radio, the app allows you to play the music for the fireworks shows right from your device!
Lastly, in the spirit of the competition, the app now offers a voting feature so viewers can vote for their favourite team and be a part of the judging panel! A “people’s choice” award will be announced at the end of the festival.
