I have been reviewing Jaimie Engle’s novels and it has been an absolute pleasure. Her writing is beyond spectacular and the novels will have you sitting on the edge of your seat, wanting to know what happens next…..
The latest in the series of Jaimie Engle novels that I have reviews is Dreadlands Wolf Moon…..
Arud Bergson is forced to leave his Viking home in the Outlands after a shape-shifting wolf attacks. He is expected to cross the realm with his sister Lykke before the next full moon. Along the way, he meets a beautiful girl who steals his heart, although he questions her motives. Arud’s world is shaken and family deceptions unravel, when he learns Lykke may be the key in a century old prophecy and a witch stalks them. The stakes are raised, and getting safely to the city in the sea becomes more than a quest. It becomes survival. Dreadlands explores the balance between love of family and a coming of age romance; praised as the next Twilight.
Over the last year, I have become a big fan of Jaimie Engle. I have already read and reviewed The Dredge and The Arrow of Light by Jaimie Engle and to say they were spectacular would be selling them short.
In Dreadlands Wolf Moon, the reader gets lost entirely in the characters and story of Arud and his sister Lykke. What is this mysterious sickness that his sister has suffered with all her young life? What secret is being withheld from them by their mother? The two will soon find out as they embark on an adventure to get safely to their Uncle’s house. Afraid to leave their Mother, but more afraid to stay, they head out on a life changing adventure.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat as you follow along, almost unable to read fast enough to get to the next page, word, moment in the novel. At times I felt like I was Holding my breath while I read, hoping they will not be found or worse. I can hardly wait for the second book to come out in this series.
I love a book that I can sit down and read and find myself disappearing into another world. A book this good leaves me disappointed that I am done the novel, thus ripping me out of an adventure, thriller, and world that I was loving and not wanting to leave. Jaimie Engle’s books do this to me every time.
I think if your preteen loves intrigue and mystery, fantasy and sci-fiction, they should really check out Jaimie Engle’s books and quite honestly as an adult and lover of books and amazing authors, I recommend Jaimie Engle’s novels to all ages preteen and up.
Jaimie Engle Captures your imagination and just runs with it.
