We recently came across a Smartphone Picture Printer called KiiPix. KiiPix allows photos on your smartphone to be printed by basically taking a picture of the picture on your screen. You do not send the photo to the device, but rather put the phone screen down with the photo you want to be printed on the KiiPix.
KiiPix Smartphone Picture Printer is the easy and portable way to let the fun last forever. Making real memories with real pictures has never been easier than with the KiiPix photo printer. Open up your KiiPix, place your phone on top, push the button and turn the crank. The picture rolls out and you have a forever memory to keep or share. The only hard part will be choosing which pictures you want to print! KiiPix puts you in control. Unlike a traditional instant camera that often wastes film for blurry pictures, you can enhance the contrast or play with filter options before your photo prints. From fixing that annoying red eye to adding bunny ears or other fun filters, KiiPix lets you augment your own reality and then print it out to share with the real world.
SMARTPHONE PRINTER: Instantly print favorite photos from your smartphone. It’s easy to use: Place film, place phone, and print!
PORTABLE PHOTO PRINTER: No batteries or cords required. Take it anywhere! It’s compact and folds flat for easy travel.
PHOTO SCANNER: Add fun filters or just get rid of the red-eye and then use KiiPix to scan those photos right to the film. You can easily print your pictures to hold on to!
NO INSTANT CAMERA NEEDED: The KiiPix only requires FUJIFILM Instax mini film (sold separately) and your phone to provide you with fun prints.
THE BEST PICTURES: For the best pictures, make sure your screen lock is on and that you turn the phone’s brightness all the way up.
THE PERFECT SIZE: The credit-card size pictures produced by the photo printer are the perfect size for wallets. Photo Size: 3.4 in. x 2.1 in. and Image Size: 2.4 in. x 1.8 in.
KiiPix does not require WiFi, a cord, or batteries. To print the picture, you turn the crank on the KiiPix unit.
Required to make the KiiPix work is FujiFilm Instax Film. We have a number of FujiFilm Instax cameras and are never short on film. 🙂 The best part is that you can get patterns of FujiFilm Instax Film to add even more character to your photos.
KiiPixx comes in Cherry Blossom, Sky Blue, and Jet Black. We have the Sky Blue KiiPix.
I noted that KiiPix is recommended for ages 14 and older. I actually think that the age ranking is somewhat high. My youngest is 11 years old, and producing Instax photos from her phone is one of her all-time favorite things to do. She loves decorating her room with all the Instax photos of her friends, family, and furry family.
There are two tips for having your photos turn out and the first is to ensure that your phone’s screen is on full brightness. The second tip that I have read is to make sure that you phone lock is on. I think what they mean here, is that you do not want your phone timing out and going to screen saver. The screen needs to show the photo that you want to be printed on the Instax film. So if you take too long and your phone lock comes on and puts your screensaver on, then the photo will be pitcure of your whatever is on your screen saver. Also, turn auto rotate off so the photo stays positioned on your screen the way you want it to appear on film.
Before you print any photos, you can do all the adjustments you want on your phone. When the photo is just the way you want it, you put in on the KiiPix, release the shutter, and turn the crank. There is a little reflective mirror on the KiiPix that lets you see how your phone is lined up and what will print.
The KiiPix folds away so it is easy to store and easy to bring along with you for any on the road photo printing needs.
When not in use, I recommend that you fold the KiiPix and put it away to keep it dust free and clean.
I do not know the longevity for this product as we just received it. I can update that when we have had the unti for awhile.
If you are looking to purchase a KiiPix, they can be found at your local Toys R US.
