We recently got to try out Koh I Noor Magix FX pencils. These pencils are so much fun to draw and color with.
Magic FX pencils® let you create the craziest, most-colorful artwork. The secret? With every turn of the wrist the unique Mosaic Lead puts down a new mind-blowing special effect. With 5.6mm leads, Magic FX pencils® are big, chunky and mega-bright – they inspire artists of all ages and styles.
Koh I Noor products are professional grade which means a higher standard for quality and performance. We love the Magic FX pencils and they are just as much fun for adults as they are for kids.
Here is a little history on the company…….
Developed in 1790, the Hardtmuth drawing pencil was the very first of its kind. A true innovator and entrepreneur, Joseph Hardtmuth invented and patented his process for blending clay, graphite powder, soot and an organic binder to produce writing and drawing instruments of the highest quality.
In fact, one hundred years later, Hardtmuth writing instruments caught the attention of HRH Queen Victoria, who gave the Koh-I-Noor pencil its official name. The monarch’s inspiration was the Koh-I-Noor (‘Mountain of Light’) diamond, a gift from India to add to the royal collection.
In 1890, a North American operation was established in Bloomsbury, New Jersey and for some time the two company branches ran along parallel tracks. With the advent of World War II and subsequent domination of Central and Eastern Europe by the former Soviet Union, however, Koh-I-Noor Europe and Koh-I-Noor North America were torn apart.
In 1999, Chartpak Inc. acquired Koh-I-Noor North America – famous for its world-renowned Rapidograph® Technical pens – and wasted no time in partnering once again with Koh-I-Noor Europe to develop a new line of Fine Art products. We are extremely proud to have participated in the reunification of this prestigious company.
And today, what was once available only to an elite royal few, is now widely accessible to artists of all levels
