FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A PHOTO-DRIVEN SELF-HELP BOOK FOR BUSY MOTHERS, TO BE RELEASED JUST IN TIME FOR MOTHER’S DAY!It may seem obvious to the average person that taking personal time is a nobrainer. But for a mother to take time for herself, though greatly desired, is many times nearly impossible – nearly.
Palm Springs, CA and Austin, TX, – April 15, 2013 – “Mommy Time-Out Means Mommy Can…” is a simple, photo-driven book that offers busy, overwhelmed mothers (e.g., all mothers!) ideas for Mommy Time-Outs and encourages them to act on them. Feli Robles and Colleen Phillips, mothers themselves, know that for mothers time is a commodity, so they put these ideas in pictures and kept the text short, sweet and to the point, not to mention witty!
Feli writes “I was inspired to create this Mommy Time-Out book after watching an episode on Oprah in 2008 in which an overwhelmed mother had accidentally left her child in the car, with fatal results. I thought of my own close calls with my children, and how they all happened when I was trying to do too much and became overwhelmed. My heart went out to this mother – and all mothers – that have experienced this type of trauma in their lives. And I felt that could so easily be me on any given day. Then I wondered how many more women feel that way and struggle to take time for themselves, or maybe never do. And so the inspiration was born.”
Feli and Colleen believe so strongly that Mommy Time-Outs are one of the most important things a mother can do for herself, and the ones they love, that they have started the Mommy Time-Out Movement, and this book is a cornerstone of that movement. Colleen says, “My own close calls with my children because I was overwhelmed or distracted is what pushes me to help other overwhelmed moms. We don’t pretend to be perfect about having our regular MTOs, we just want to provide tools, ideas, and create a supportive community to help moms everywhere take a regular Mommy Time-Out. We want to get people everywhere talking about Mommy Time-Outs like they are the norm, expected even.”
Whether you read this book from front to back, or just turn to a random page, you will find inspiring, funny and helpful ideas to support the overwhelmed mother. The women in the photos are not professional models but rather real moms who also understand the importance of a good Time-Out, because when mommy is happy, everyone is happy!
