We have reviewed a ton of Nancy B’s Science Club products over the years and have always loved them. The most recent Nancy B’s Science Club product that has entered our house is the Mighty Microbes Lab & Germ Journal.

Cut to the Chase
The Mighty Microbes Lab turns “eww” into “aha!” by encouraging study and understanding of (harmless) tiny colonies of bacteria and fungi
Features 4 Petri dishes, 250 mL standing, round-bottomed flask with volume markings, and stopper with hole to fit on top of flask
Also includes spreader for spreading bacteria, waterproof colony counter grid, loupe with 8x magnification, tweezers, funnel, pipette, gloves, and nutrient agar packet plus recipe to make more agar
22-Page activity journal
Here is what we love about the Mighty Microbes Lab & Germ Journal….
*Comes with 4 Petri dishes so allows for a number of experiments at one time.
*Includes latex free gloves.
*Includes all the tools you need for experiments.
*Includes the agar recipe which is needed for more experiments.
*Gives ideas in the 22 page activity journal.
*Can document results in the journal.
If there was one thing I wish the set would come with, it is a bit more of the agar for the experiments. I would like to be able to do about 4 experiments (one for each Petri dish) before making more agar. Luckily though, the recipe for the agar is included and easily made. The amount made with the recipe is enough for 4 Petri dishes.
My Little One loves doing experiments. She will go through the kitchen and grab various things in our cupboards to do her experiments.
We always love the Nancy B’s Science Club products. They are well made and easy to clean up. I love the journals that they come with as they always offer experiments to try out and have a place to document the results.
I love that the Nancy B’s Science Club products encourage learning. There is nothing better than a mess in my kitchen that has resulted in some learning and experimenting. That is a mess I never mind helping to clean up. 🙂
The Mighty Microbes Lab & Germ Journal is great for ages 8 and older. The set is well made and easy to clean up for kids.
