Have you heard or read Sir Seth Thistlethwaite and the Soothsayer’s Shoes?
“This adventurous chapter book series chronicles the “daily knightly” adventures that exist solely in the imaginations of 10-year-old buddies Seth Thistlethwaite and Ollie Everghettz. These Mighty Knights of Right & Honor are out to save the world, or at least solve a few smaller dilemmas. The tongue-twisting humor and action and adventure that are a part of each story makes this series enjoyable and appealing — especially to boys.”

Here is a little bit more about each book in case you are not familiar with the Sir Seth Thistlethwaite Series.
Sir Seth Thistlethwaite and the Soothsayer’s Shoes
“Seth is no ordinary 10-year-old. He is SIR Seth Thistlethwaite and he and his best buddy, Sir Ollie Everghettz, are the self-appointed leaders of The Mighty Knights of Right & Honor, a twosome seeking out injustice and striving to uphold fair play and, time willing, slaying all those miserable, invisible things hiding under your bed.
In the boys’ imagined world of Thatchwych (a place full of dreary, dark, dank castles and the like) they are gallant adventurers up to any task. So when Lady Sheri-Sue Shrood approaches the knights for help, they have no choice but to embark on their very first quest, braving the dangers of foot-sucking bogs and fire-breathing bats to save the day.
It seems the scheming Prince Quincy of Poxley, who lives in the Very Scary Poxley Castle in the Kingdom of High Dudgeon, has stolen the wise wizard Sir Shawn Shrood’s magical soothsaying that’s “truthsaying” to you laypeople shoes, and without them there is no way to know who is telling the truth and who is not.
These errant young knights are not without aid in their quest to find the shoes, though. A great cast of supporting characters, including Seth’s faithful steed Shasta (really his golden retriever), the saber-toothed sloth Edith-Anne, and of course their intrepid guide Lady Sherie-Sue all come along on the journey.
This series debut is a dizzy, delightful drama that thrives on witty wordplay, animated alliteration, and tricky tongue twisters to make for an addictive, enjoyable read — especially for boys — and offers a rich language experience for readers and listeners. The rhythm of the funny, vivid text makes this a perfect book for reading aloud or on your own. Energetic black-and-white illustrations complement the story and help prompt readers’ imaginations.”
Not Yet Available – Sir Seth Thistlethwaite and the Kingdom of the Caves
“Having recently returned from their journey to Thatchwych in book one of this series, Sir Seth Thistlethwaite and Sir Ollie Everghettz are doing some well deserved relaxing on a raft in the local pond. That’s when they notice the water level is suspiciously low. And there’s a strange bubbling coming from the pond, too. Could it be a sea serpent? A strange spell? Or is someone stealing the water?
What follows is the second animated, alliterative adventure for this knightly duo, which takes the boys underground to the Queendom of Claire. Claire, they discover, has a much bigger problem than just a leaky waterhole. It is being held hostage by the evil Ooz and his dino Grak; they have blocked off the only river in the realm and, unless Ooz is named ruler of the land, Claire will go bone-dry. Our Mighty Knights leap into action, but is this queendom due to become a kingdom? With their new ally, the impulsive princess of Claire, Sundra Neeth, looking like she may play right into Ooz’s hands, it just might.
Like the first book in the Sir Seth Thistlethwaite series, author Richard Thake weaves inventive wordplay and tricky tongue twisters into every sentence, making for an addictive, enjoyable read. The energetic black-and-white illustrations from Vince Chui throughout reflect and support the text and help prompt readers’ imaginations, while a map of Claire and illustrated character profiles introduce kids to the fantastical setting and major players. Highly humorous and vivid, Sir Seth Thistlethwaite and the Kingdom of the Caves shows readers that there are no limits to the adventures that can be had if they’re only willing to test the power of their own imaginations.”
