Playland gates opened at 10:00 am on May 5th, 2018 for the season and just like every year, we head on down for opening weekend. We did not get to Playland on May 5th, but we got there the second day of the opening weekend and it was great.
One of my favorite things about going early in the morning and early in the season for Playland is that there are basically no lineups. In May the temperature is awesome as well.
We arrived right at 10:00 am and were there doing rides before any of the food concessions were even open. They opened pretty quickly into our adventures and they have everything you could want from candy apples, mini donuts, beaver tails, popcorn, snow cones, pizza and well the list could keep going on.
This opening weekend we were sad that the historic and world-famous Wooden Roller Coaster was not open. The Wooden Roller Coaster was down for regular maintenance as were Hell’s Gate and Crazy Beach Party. So three of our favorite rides were not ready yet this year. Because of these three rides down for maintenance, added to the lineup of rides was the Octopus, Alien Abduction, and Tilt A Whirl. Seeing that we love the Octopus and Tilt a Whirl we were happy…
But let’s be honest… there is no replacement for the Wooden Roller Coaster. 🙂
Another family favorite is the Log Ride. Oh, how we love the Log Ride.
Playland has over 50 rides and attractions. You can plan your entire day by checking out the height requirements for rides, check out all the attractions that are available, the games, and of course the food.
There are rides and attractions for almost all ages so whether you are wanting to conquer The Beast or have a calm Ferris Wheel ride, you are sure to find something for ever level of rider in your family.
