“PUR water filtration system is a 7 cup pitcher and a single pack replacement filter featuring MAXION technology, certified to remove more contaminants than any other brand.1 PUR makes it easier to empower consumers to care for their water by providing an environmentally friendly solution that can potentially keep 226 (500 ml) plastic water bottles out of landfills each year. 2 Imagine the effect on the planet if every person in Canada adopted this system. This is what we are encouraging at our Earth Month launch in conjunction with TerraCycle and London Drugs,” said Brian Benaissa, Director of Marketing, Helen of Troy Health & Home, distributors of PUR Water Filtration Systems.
PUR takes environmental stewardship very seriously, and in addition to creating an industry leading water filtration system, has gone one step further by partnering with TerraCycle, with a national recycling program, to help consumers reduce the impact of the water filtration system and product packaging on the environment. The TerraCycle PUR Recycling Program is open to any interested individual, school, office, or community organization. Participation is as easy as signing up on the TerraCycle website (www.terracycle.ca). Upon registering, TerraCycle then sends pre-paid shipping labels to the end user to send back waste, and uses it to up-cycle, recycle, and even creates art and community playgrounds with it!
“We are proud to partner with PUR and TerraCycle on the launch of this new water filtration product available at London Drugs,” said Maury McCausland, London Drugs Retail Operations Sustainability Specialist. “As part of our What’s the Green Deal? program we are committed to partnering with organizations that provide full-cycle services for their products and PUR fits well into our sustainability goals. London Drugs has worked with TerraCycle for many years; we are dedicated to continuing to provide our customers with as many opportunities as possible to recycle their everyday products in our stores.”

Our family drinks a lot of water, and we like our water ice cold. So we have traditionally kept a couple of pitchers of water in the fridge. Lately we have added in the PUR 7 cup pitcher as an accessible water pitcher in our fridge. We enjoy having the cold, fresh water to fill our reusable water bottles with when we are all on the go. We also like an ice cold glass of water with our meals.
The PUR filter is easy to use and keep clean. It comes apart so each area can be accessed for cleaning.
The filter is easy to use as you soak, rinse, and then put in. Fill the pitcher and it slowly filters the water.
Here is the biggest tip for anyone using the PUR pitcher….follow the directions. You need to fill the pitcher and let the water filter through before pouring. The blue reservoir is not meant to have water sitting in there when you pour. If you have the blue reservoir full of water, the pitcher will not pour nicely. So fill the reservoir, let the water filter through, and then enjoy your glass of filtered water.
