My family is always needing water bottles. I think the most common product we have in our cupboards are a collection of water bottles for varies activities. Whether we are working in the yard, going for a hike, bottles for school, or bottles for various sports, we have an endless need for water on the go.
The latest line of water bottles that we have tried and tested are the Pura stainless steel water bottles. Pura has a very complete line of water bottles, with an option for just about everyone. Best of all, Pura bottles are not plastic, something that everyone seems to be staying away from.
Let’s start with size and work our way up….
The first Pura stainless steel water bottle that we tested was the Pura Kiki® 11oz Straw Bottle with Sleeve.
About This Bottle
The 11oz straw bottle is the ideal bottle for Pre-K to early elementary school kids. Our 100% medical grade silicone straw top eliminates distracting drinking or lid removal noises of traditional bottles making them a teacher’s favorite! True to our plastic-free mission, our straw bottle is 100% plastic-free unlike other bottles that use plastic components in their straw bottles. With Pura, you can be sure you are getting the safest, BPA/BPS-free and toxin-free bottle on the market.
The 11 oz Pura bottle has the choice of blue, green, red, or pink sleeves. We have the pink and it is awesome. The bottle also comes with the awesome sports straw and we also got a big mouth sport top with it for the option of either type of lid. The 11 oz bottle also comes with the cover to protect the straw lid.
I really like the 11 oz bottle for younger kids. My 9 year old loved the color, but the 11 oz bottle is too small to keep her going for long. So I would recommend the 11 oz bottle for ages 6 and under probably.
At 9, my Little One loves both the straw top and the big mouth sport top so I recommend that you consider both as it really makes the bottles more versatile for all different types of sport bottle needs and demands.
The next in Pura size bottle that we tested was the Pura Sport™ 18oz Bottle.
More About This Bottle
Our development team took up the challenge of creating the first (and only) 100% plastic-free Sport bottle on the market and only NonToxic Certified bottle on the planet. Our 100% medical grade silicone Big Mouth™ sport top allows a free flow of liquids while eliminating the dreaded ice shift that often results in a soaked shirt or an embarrassing wet spot in your lap!
As with all bottles in the Pura offering, our 18oz bottle is 100% plastic-free and can be used with any of our silicone lids including our nipples, spouts, straws, and flat lids. With Pura you can rest assured that you are always using the safest and most eco-progressive bottle on the market.
The 19 oz Pura bottles comes with the big mouth silicone sport top. I really love this top. It is easy to drink from and does not leak at all.
The 18 oz Pura bottle comes with sleeve color options of red, green, teal, or blue.
I really like the 18 oz Pura bottle. It is a better size for kids that are around my Little One’s age of 9 years old. It is easy for them to carry still as the size is not too big. I love the ring attached to the silicone sleeve on the side for carrying the Pura bottle as well.
The 18 oz is perfect for older kids and for adults that don’t drink a ton.
The next Pura bottle I tested is the Pura Sport™ 22oz Vacuum Insulated Bottle.

Okay by far I love the 22 oz insulated Pura water bottle. I love that it is insulated as it keeps my drinks cool a lot longer. It can also keep liquids hot, but the big mouth sport top is not meant to be used with hot liquids. So although it can keep liquid hot, it is only designed for keeping liquids cool based on the available mouth pieces for the bottles.
For me, the 22 oz is also more adequate of a size, especially when I am in the yard working in the heat, enjoying our pool, or going for a hike. I am a big drinker and I like my liquids to stay ice cool, so this is the perfect bottle in my books.
The silicone sleeves come on green, aqua, red, and blue and have the loop on the side to hold the bottle by. I love the loop as I said as it makes it easier to carry.
I really like the entire line of Pura products based on the ones we tested, but hands down, I love the 22 oz insulated bottle. To me it just makes sense to have a bottle that keeps your liquids cool and that can hold a good amount of fluids.
When I order any additional Pura water bottles, I will be getting the 22 oz insulated bottles for all the members in my family.
Here is one thing I would like to see….
I like pink and purple so I would love a silicone sleeve for the 22 oz insulated bottle in pink and/or purple. I would also love to see the big mouth sport top to match the sleeve in pink or purple.
Here is the one down side to anything steel…..
My lovely 22 oz insulated Pura bottle is already dented. Just one knock and roll off the outside table and the bottle fell to the ground and has a dent. I guess I can see it as character added to my bottle. Let’ face it too, a plastic bottle is usually unhealthy, and likely would have cracked if dropped. Glass….well yes, they do break easier for sure.
Best of all in my books is that the line of Pura products are certified nontoxic.
