We recently came across a lineup of furry pals that kids can take care of and love, called Rescue Runts. There are four puppies to choose from in the Rescue Runt product lineup, but we chose to check out the Husky.

- Rescue Runts are adoptable pets that you rescue, groom & love!
- Care for your rescue puppy to take them from ragged runt to perfect pet.
- Use the included grooming kit to pick out fleas, clean their paws, wipe their tears and brush their fur!
- Clean them up again and again! Rescue Runts’ messy fur, downturned ears, dirty paws and bandage can be restored for repeated rescue play.
- Soft and cuddly plush perfect for plenty of puppy snuggles!
- Adopt all four puppies and give them a home to call their own!
- Rescue Runts are for kids ages 3+.
There are small pieces in the Rescue Runt puppy lineup of products that can pose a choking risk so please keep that in mind when deciding if a Rescue Runt friend is right for your little one.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR RESCUE RUNT
Use the tweezers to remove fleas
Peel off tear stickers from eyes
Unwrap the bandage
Use the brush to smooth out messy fur
Pull tongue down
Unfold ears
Clean dirty paws with the towel & add warm water as needed
The Rescue Runts come all shabby and it is their new owner’s job to clean them up. There are pretend ticks on them that can be taken off with the grooming kit that they come with. There are tears to wipe away that are stickers, so it goes without saying that the stickers will get tattered and worn if not looked after. The dog’s fur will need to be brushed upon arrival which from my experience kids typically love to do. It takes a good brushing too and the better job you do, the better your Rescue Runt turns out.
I have read a number of reviews on the Rescue Runts and have noted the comments about the tears not being reusable. As I mentioned above, they are stickers and only have a certain life span indeed, but I am not sure that many will be making their new little friend cry a ton. 🙂
I have also noted a number of reviews on the ticks. The ticks appear to be placed on well upon arrival. You can reuse the ticks, they just need to be carefully placed back on the Rescue Runt, but no, they will not place on and stay there for transport if that is what you are looking to do.
I think it is pretty neat that the included towel wipes the dirt away from the Rescue Runt’s paws.
Owners can also download their own Adoption Certificate for their Rescue Runt.
Once your Rescue Runt has been all cleaned up and cared for, you can name them in the space provided on their collar and put their collar on. Finally, your new soft, furry, best friend is all ready for cuddles.
Rescue Runts are available at Toys R US and all major toy retailers and outlets.
The Rescue Runt family is growing with Rescue Runt Babies. There are over 20 Rescue Runt Babies to adopt and care for.
