Emma, the young girl with extraordinary ocean powers returns to save the day once more in ‘Seaper Powers: The Rescue’!
The ocean is such a familiar yet endlessly mysterious place, rich in intelligent life whose lives differ so greatly from ours. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to experience the ocean as cephalopods, fish, and jellies do? This wonderous, child-like wish has a splendid outlet in the Seaper Powers series of animated films by Side FX Partners! Emma is an ordinary girl with a penchant for curiosity. That is, until she discovers a magical sea-grass that confers unto her fantastic abilities! Emma can communicate with sea creatures and breathe underwater, allowing her to befriend Oliver the Octopus and Steve the Starfish, who quickly become her steadfast companions. Together, they venture the ocean floor seeking out treasure, thwarting the plans of nautical ne’er-do-wells, and making friends along the way.
After the exciting first two installments of Seaper Powers entitled In Search of Bleu Jay’s Treasure and Mystery of the Blue Pearls, Emma and friends are returning once again for their third adventure – Seaper Powers: The Rescue. When Steve the Starfish comes down with a mysterious illness, Emma and her new friend Marty the Mermaid (from movie 2 – Mystery of the Blue Pearls) go in search of a cure. But things go from bad to worse when Emma, Marty and tons of ocean-dwellers are swallowed by an underwater vortex, all as a good hearted but scary looking giant squid looks on…will they be able to escape the black hole and save Steve? Creator of Seaper Powers and owner of Side FX PARTNERS, Kim Cameron’s aim is to counterbalance the incredibly stressful social media landscape at our children’s fingertips by putting more joyful kids entertainment out into the world. “I feel like there is a dwindling amount of content out there for kids to simply have fun. The world reflected through social media today is very burdensome, intense, and endlessly complex for young minds. I wanted to get back to basics in children’s entertainment. Seaper Powers shows that it’s great to explore your imagination, it’s great to be creative, and it’s great to be curious.” Cameron also developed Seaper Powers in an effort to get children interested in oceanic conservation, encouraging kids to not be intimidated by the enormity of the problem, and instead act on a manageable scale to affect their own change. At the request of parents with young fans who can’t get enough Seaper Powers, Cameron has also developed hardcover companion chapter books to accompany the animated Seaper Powers movies. These chapter books adapt the stories of the animations and contain both original illustrations and scenes straight from the movies. They’re perfect for parents to read to their little ones before bed, instilling a love for traditional book reading in children at an early age. The chapter books develop the story of Emma and friends even further, with Seaper Powers 4: The Riddle and Seaper Powers 5: the Red Cap allowing fans to read beyond the upcoming animated movie! And to sleep soundly at night, there are also Seaper Powers plush! Each plush is carefully handmade with love by independent artists and measure 8 inches in height. Plush are available for Emma, Oliver the Octopus, Steve the Starfish, Daphne the Dolphin, and Jinkens the Jellyfish, enough characters to round out a Seaper Powers collection!
