I have reviewed Tapplock on previous occasions when they came out with their first ever fingerprint lock. I have loved our Tapplock since the first time we have ever used one. As I sit here writing this, our very first Tapplock secures the fence to our backyard, to make sure no one comes in and accidentally accesses our pool. I feel very secure with our Tapplock on our gate. It has endured the weather and elements year round with no issue or signs of wear and tear.
When I heard that there was a new and improved Tapplock one called Tapplock one+ I was not really sure what they needed to improve on. I was curious about the differences between the first model and the newest model.
The biggest improvement from Tapplock one to Tapplock one+ is its IP-67 waterproof rating. It can be unlocked while submerged underwater! So if you have any questions about whether the Tapplock One+ is waterproof and can endure the rain, worry no more!
I notice that with the original Tapplock that when you put your finger on the sensor and it detects it, that the lock pops open. With the Tapplock one+ once the lock senses your fingerprint, you have to pull to open the lock. A little difference between the two here, but not sure that one way is better than another. I am okay with either the lock popping open or me pulling it open once my fingerprint is sensed.
Tapplock one+ is crafted for the practical. 7mm reinforced stainless steel shackles, strengthened by double-layered lock design with anti-shim and anti-pry technologies. Tapplock one+ is the ultimate utility fingerprint padlock.
0.8 seconds to freedom
State-of-the-art capacitive fingerprint sensor allows unlocking in under 0.8 seconds. Adaptive algorithm means the lock becomes faster and more accurate with each access. Store up to 500 different fingerprints per lock. Manage users and fingerprints via the Tapplock app.
Three ways to unlock
Fingerprint unlocking, Bluetooth unlocking via the Tapplock app, and backup Morse-Code unlocking by pressing long / short combinations on the power button. Track access history using the Tapplock app.
Sharing access is simple
Share Bluetooth access remotely with unlimited users. Set permanent access or limited access with flexible dates and times, and feel free to revoke access whenever you want. Track and monitor access history with time and location from the Tapplock app.
One year battery life per charge(or 3,500 unlocks)
You can check remaining power using the Tapplock app.
Using our app from the App Store or Play Store, your lock profiles will show the battery percentage remaining on the lock.
Tapplock blinks red when power is below 10%.
In case it does run out, a 8 second charge using any portable battery pack will awaken the Tapplock.
Water and weather-proof
Industry leading IP67 water-proof rating allows Tapplock one+ to function even when completely submerged. Dust-proof and rust-proof. Functional between -20C to 65C (-4F to 149F).
Tapplock one+ comes in three color options: Black, Silver, Gun Metal. I have an original Tapplock in Gun Metal and a Tapplock one+ in Black.
Our Tapplocks have kept everything safe for us from our yard to our bicycles. No keys to search for or combinations to remember. Now that we have our Tapplock one+, we can lock our pool ladder up and not have to remember a combination anymore. Just a fingerprint and the ladder is free to put in our above ground pool.
I also know from long term use that the Tapplock one and one+ are durable for outdoor use. My original Tapplock one looks as good as my Tapplock one+.
We love our Tapplock one and one+ and we recommend that you take a look at the products and free yourself from keys and combinations.
