I am sure that you have heard parents and kids talking about The Elf on the Shelf. If you have not heard of The Elf on the Shelf, then read on as this is an awesome and extremely fun Christmas Tradition.
When our elf first entered our house, he was a simple elf in his red and white elf suit. Since then, Chippey has returned each year with a number of different items, from a flight jacket and googles to shirts and a jersey he wears on my Little One’s game days. Chippey is always up to something when he appears and that is the fun each morning.
To start your Elf on the Shelf Christmas Tradition you first need to adopt an elf. There are girl and boy elves with either light or dark skin that can be adopted.
In your Elf on the Shelf adoption kit, you receive an elf and a storybook.
What is The Elf on the Shelf®?
The Elf on the Shelf® is a fun-filled Christmas tradition that has captured the hearts of children everywhere who welcome home one of Santa’s Scout Elves each holiday season. The magical Scout Elves help Santa manage his naughty and nice lists by taking note of a family’s Christmas adventures, and reporting back to Santa at the North Pole nightly. Each morning, the Scout Elf returns to its family and perches in a new spot, waiting for someone to spot them. Children love to wake up and race around the house looking for their Scout Elf each morning. You can tell Santa’s Official Scout Elves apart from other elves at the North Pole because they arrive in their official solid red jumpsuit with their very own storybook called The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition.
This magical tale was written by mother and daughter Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell, and is based on their own family’s Christmas tradition. Carol, Chanda and her twin sister Christa Pitts self-published the book and founded their own company, Creatively Classic Activities and Books (CCA and B, LLC).
The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition launched in early 2005. Eleven years on, the book is read by millions of families and continues to top multiple bestseller lists.
This year our Elf on the Shelf will arrive with a few new items. Clothing is always a popular addition…
What I am most excited about this year is our Elf Pet. There are two Elf Pets available: a Saint Bernard and a Reindeer. We have the Reindeer Elf Pet.
When Santa needs more Christmas spirit to fly his sleigh, he calls on the Elf Pets® Reindeer and children all over the world to save the day! Kids will read this enchanting tale, and cuddle the reindeer included in this box set to create the Christmas spirit that will help Santa’s sleigh soar.
Includes:
A vividly illustrated hardbound children’s book
A huggable Elf Pets® Reindeer
The line of Elf on the Shelf accessories and products has really grown over the years and truly add to the excitement and magic that a tiny Scout Elf brings around Christmas time.
Next on my list is the Elf on the Shelf Slumber Set and Totally Tubular Snow Set.
Our Scout Elf has had so many adventures over the years. My Little One named her Scout Elf Chippey after the elf in the movie. Chippey has had tea parties with Barbie in her house, ziplined through our kitchen, climbed the wall, and so much more. The excitement for my Little One every morning to wake and find where Chippey moved to after his nightly trip to the North Pole has created spectacular and special memories that we will all treasure forever.
The Elf on the Shelf is beyond a must-have Christmas Tradition in my opinion.
If you have not started an Elf on the Shelf tradition, then I highly recommend that you look into starting one. If you have and you are looking to enhance the creativity and excitement, then I recommend that you check out the Elf on the Shelf accessories and Elf Pets.
