Every once in awhile I come across a product that really intrigues me a lot and I just have to check out. The latest product that really grabbed my attention was The Irish Fairy Door Company.
I love all things that bring magical moments and create life long memories with my Little One and The Irish Fairy Door Company is a product that does all that.
We had been wanting to make a fairy house of some type ever since we found this nice piece of wood that just said…”I am a fairy house awaiting to be brought to life.”
We had the log sitting there, and sitting there, and sitting there for the longest time. My Little One kept asking me when we would transform it into a fairy house. I kept saying soon, because well, I am not the most handy with tools and such, so I was nervous to start carving into this beautiful piece of wood.
Then one day I saw The Irish Fairy Door Company and all their beautiful fairy doors and products. It was like I could hear the music…. tadaaaaaa. This was what I needed to create our fairy house.
First let me tell you that there are different fairy doors as far as shape and color. If you know my Little One from all my previous reviews, then you probably instantly knew we picked a pink door. 🙂 We also picked the fairy door that comes to a point on the top instead of the curved one. You can see all the fairy door styles and colors here…
Our fairy door arrived and our big hunk of wood started to transform….
I purchased waterproof extra strength glue and glued the fairy door on. We also had the clothes line that you can purchase from The Irish Fairy Door Company. I drilled a couple of holes in the top of the log and sunk the clothes line sticks in. Just a heads up here….the clothes line sticks are very fragile and I accidentally cracked one when taking it out of the packaging, so be careful with them. I need to go find a new stick to repair my clothesline now.
Creating our fairy house started to give us more and more ideas…..
We created a walkway out of stir sticks and painted it neon pink (of course pink). We also created a little fence out of some pink string and stir sticks.
We then used chisels and created only two windows. My Little One only wanted two. One is on the front left and one is around the side out of sight from the front view.
We also placed The Irish Fairy Door Company stepping stones that come with the fairy door on our pink walkway.
All our work was paying off and our fairy house has certainly progressed even more.
Our fairy house is looking pretty good, we think, and we are still getting ideas every day. I am excited to see what we think of next to add to it.
I really love The Irish Fairy Door Company and their products. I wish I knew about it sooner and had one when my Little One lost her first tooth. I would have totally integrated the fairy door into the magic of the tooth fairy if I had one back then. Could you imagine the excitement a little one would have if they had a fairy door right in their room that the tooth fairy could come in and out of. Wow, I would have been ecstatic with this as a kid.
There is even a little plate that you can order the says “my Tooth” so that your little one can leave their tooth there. LOVE IT!
The fairy doors come with their own little magical key. Ours is sitting on the little fairy bench out front of the house with the fairy. The key is to be put out and when it disappears, they say your fairy has moved in.
